Colour

If you are attacked, mugged in the street, is it right to give the police the colour of the attacker

Or would that be racist

Re: Colour

Would it be sizist, if mention was made of the attacker's height?

Or fashionist, if a description was given of what they were wearing?

until the public recieve police training i think saying the person was black, brown or white is acceptable.

if a memeber of teh public starts saying IC2 the police will think there were two offders :D

when i used a supposedly un PC description to describe the dirt bag who smashed my fence the police had him apprehended within 5 mins

however 4 weeks later at an identity parade done on dvd video with 20 or more look alikes and him been given a chance to change his clothes and alter his hair i didnt stand a chance of picking him out of an identity parade despite identifying him to two police officers at the scene of the incident.

Just be sure you are confident you can pick him out on camera amongst 20 or so look alikes while their solicitor is in the room with you breathing down your neck

I'm glad you smiled, having read your recent posts and threads I would have thought you were too sad to smile.
Here's hoping you aren't going to continue in this pathetic manner.

Re: Colour

Each one of us is an individual and "race" as a concept does exist -the human race is one thing but can be divided into many different ethnicities.

Colour is only one of many features that distinguish one individual from another. it is specific to each one of us and has many subtleties. Some are whiter than others, some are darker...Perhaps by describing someones colour in order to individuate them one becomes essentially a colourist and not racist?!:)
