Most big companies give tracking numbers these days especially if you buy on line, amazon and argos certainly do

worse

critical appointments for hospital have never arrived infact it got so bad the hospital has put on its records that appointments have to be made by phone for me.

after watching what happens to our mail on watchdog the other year its a wonder anything gets to us

out of 10 birthday cards sent each with a £10 note inside only two arrived at their desitination intact ,3 arrived with the money removed and the rest didnt turn up at all

then there was the trollys full of mail left abandoned by the temp staff under bridges ,in town center carparks and variousl other places infact they filmed one location which was a regular dumping site for peoples mail including bank statements etc

if i send anything it goes recorded delivery because if it feels expensive they will have it away or if they are feeling underpaid in a temporary position they will just dump it

obviously i am not refering to all post men theres good and bad in everything but its just not worth teh risk sending anything of value non recorded delivery.

Quite a few years ago there was one lad sacked from been a post man in accy because he cashed all the benefit giros he was supposed to deliver .How he cashed so many beggars belief lol

Re: royal mail

yep dont know if its a ploy from royal mail but 50% of my post thats not recorded has gone missing they must know somethings going on ive filled so many claim forms spoke to so many royal mail representives . i sent 16 parcels 2 weeks ago and only 8 reached their destination.cant remember this happening so frequently when it was more nationalised..

im currently experiencing the same issue with play.com

read around you will soon see its a cowboy outfit and are probably lying about depsatching it

based in jersey or something for a reason :(

some items have arrived from play.com but they also use sub sellers ar whatever they call them and you are at their mercey as to if they postteh item. Two of my sons birthday presents came 2 weeks late despite saying despatched but the post date said a different story

The reason for that is VAT avoidance, a little loophole that I believe is about to be closed down.

A lot of stuff i order from Amazon comes via Jersey too, although to date i havn't had a single problem with anything i've ordered from them, always received the goods as described, and on time....in fact in most cases earlier than stated!

think it also makes it harder to get your money back if your ripped off.Unless you have credit card cover or something .

3 weeks wait so far for 1 item yet to get here.

its either a case of them lying about despatching it or its been nicked

They are pretty good i must say. Ordered most of my Christmas stuff in November via them, and it all arrived no problem. Also ordered something from them on Friday with Free delivery, estimated arrival date was 8th Dec & its arrived today, 2 days early. It came from Jersey too!

Best Regards - Taggy

Re: royal mail

I've put a complaint in against Royal Mail. I sent an application form off to my housing association to attend a training course and I saw the lady it was addressed to, and she said she never received it.

Also my partner got a letter yesterday postmarked the 30th November asking her act within 7days.

Sometimes I get my neighbours mail and she gets mine. I'm often posting her bank statement through her letterbox thst was put through my letterbox. But imagine if I was a scammer have her bank statement I could commit all types of fraud.

Re: royal mail

with how unreliable the mail service has got i find it hard to believe that some companies will not email you letters if you ask them to

Re: royal mail

My DVLA road tax renewal form never arrived in November as it should have, and since I gave my car away mid month and it is now stored 'off road', it didn't matter.

Re: royal mail

Well I ordered a book on line around 4pm on Sunday afternoon, its something I'd overlook, in other words I should have got my backside in gear and done it earlier, it was now a toss up whether this book would arrive in time for Christmas as it is for a present. Oh ye of little faith, at 8-30 this morning the doorbell went, GPO with a parcel, my book had arrived in less than 48 hours:mosher::mosher:

Re: royal mail

I've never had any problems with Royal Mail, apart from when my mail man was on holiday, the replacement would only put the letters halfway in the mail box and most of the letters would get wet.
Put a complaint in and it stopped.
