New scam in accrington
 
New scam operating in Accy town center, Eastern Europeans with a badly photocopied message, purporting that they are deaf & dumb, trying to get people to sign a paper, and donate money. Face ache was accosted by two whilst in the town shopping, she told the first to sod off, and would be reporting the matter to the Plod, the 2nd one she warned a couple of women, not to sign or give them money, couldn't find any plod in the town center, reported at the Cop Shop, was told the Plod were on patrol in the town center, when she said no they weren't, the desk clerk said no they've just come back, she would go and warn them.
The scammers weren't deaf or dumb, they understood every word she said to them, didn't break their cover, just backed away.

If anyone else sees them, here are some handy signs, useful when dealing with those purporting to be 'deaf and dumb'.

Someone must have already done so, as it was two women doing the scamming. (Or two now bollockless men!) If I see them tomorrow I will be phoning the owd bill & making a citizens arrest, the robbing scheming

Just remember you nick 'em under the Vagrancy Act. Words such as:

'I am making a citizens arrest on you under the Vagrancy Act 1824'.

You don't need to bother with all the nonsense about 'you do not have to say anything etc etc..' but make sure you've got at least two witnesses.

This scam isn't new......it has been around for a couple of years.
Maybe not in Accrington.
I have seen them employ this tactic in Manchester, but the local police move them on very smartly.

Don't know about move um on they should have moved um to jail, directly to jail do not pass go do not collect £200:rolleyes:

That's because they read Accy Web and they're otherwise known as Mancie and Cmonstanley (in drag).
