Re: Suicide is Painless:
I don't think so Less....I was 12,000 miles away when my sister in law committed suicide, and I know why she did it......and if you had read what I posted you would know too.
I am not judging, I am just saying the things that you deal with after such an event...if you consider that to be self righteous then so be it. If someone kills themself....they haven't 'lost' anything...they have thrown it away....given it up as unwanted. |

Suicide is something I once attempted, why? Well now even I couldn't give you the answer to that one. But how anyone that has never been in such a mind frame can even attempt to put themselves in the position of the victim, (be it that they are a victim of their own actions), is a load of tosh, you know nothing and are talking sentimental tosh! As for Groove and his theory that folk think it's trendy, well, every day he shows he has no real grip on reality with the carp he posts. Basically if you haven't even been close to doing it yourself you have no idea how people that do it feel, so keep your half baked theories to yourself, Please. |
Re: Suicide is Painless:
You know Less, there are two sides to every subject.
And when we are talking about being judgemental aren't you being just that? You judge my opinions as sentimental tosh.......I have looked after people who have fought to die....just as much as those patients suffering from life shortening illness have fought to cling on to life....so although I have not been in your shoes, please do me the courtesy of allowing me my own views. Every suicide is different......because every person who commits that act is different....and just as much as I did not know what was in your mind when you attempted that act(in fact, you now confess that you don't know either), neither do you know what is in anyones else's mind when they contemplate suicide. It is akin to grieving...no-one...even those who have suffered/experienced a bereavement can ever know what another human being is feeling...we can only imagine, and work out a little of what they are experiencing by what we, ourselves have lived through...but it is never ever going to come anywhere close, is it? |

And that is the last thing I am going to say in this thread. |
Re: Suicide is Painless:
A person who is driven to act out the extreme gesture of trying to take their own life is very sick. Mental illness is always the hardest to understand but unfortunately it is present in certain number of the population.
It is undoubtedly hard on members of the family left behind by their loved ones act - impossible to explain in many cases, as an altered perception of life due to mental illness is not understandable to a person who does not experience the same feelings of despair. The hardest thing to accept is probably the feeling of inadequacy -of not having understood what was going through the mind of the suicidal person -there is no way of comprehending such feelings, they do not enter into what we consider to be the norm. No-one is guilty in such cases -they are just tragedies and are part of life -hard as that may be to accept. |
