Re: christmas

It does seem a bit too early for things like trees with lights. I have to post to US before end of October and I find it difficult to start feelign Christmassy this early.

By Dec 25th we'll have overdosed.

Re: christmas

if only you had my job you would realise that more and more people are actually xmas shopping alot earlier every year cause now they realise the expence and when you shop early you dont get disappointed.
I work in a toy shop and im a last minute shopper my kids usually get what no one else wants (hee hee) im that last minute ive not managed to do my xmas food shop twice honest ask my mum n dad.lol

Re: christmas

I shop early for presents because I send some abroad and want to catch the last dates for surface mail. Present buying isn't the same as having trimmings up or a Father Christmas. It just gets a bit much when stores start too early because it takes all the magic out of the season.

I also have stuff to go abroad so tend to sort those things out early. I rarely do a food shop as working Xmas day gets me out of doing the dinner. I have used this tac-tic for 17 years and have never had to do the meal yet. Honestly, not only does it work like a charm but it also gets you out of the washing up...:D

Well we have just put our Christmas POS up and have been told by the powers that be to play our Christmas tapes. I'm sick to the back teeth of Christmas already.:D

It's cheaper for me to send the wife back to Accy in November to do the Xmas shoping, give out the prezzies, than to buy the prezzies in Germany and send them over!

Anyway she likes seeing her Sister and her Mum!

Pity it doesn't work out the same with the USA for me, it would make a nice pre-Christmas trip.;)

Thinking of doing my xmas shopping at the weekend to get it out of the way! The worst thing is getting the food shopping around xmas - the shops only close for a couple of days and you'd think we'd all starve the way we all stockpile! I think I'll be buying online the week before Christmas - it's got to be easier than trying to get round the carpark at Asda!

Nice idea, but a couple of years ago, I ordered a fresh turkey to be delivered for christmas from our local butcher......It arrived with green skin!!! What made it worse is that the Butcher was my cousin. (I must have upset him at some time or another:confused: )

always buy easter eggs after easter, always buy xmas chocs after xmas.

these supermarkets always sell off the xmas branded goodies at low low prices when the "big" days is over.
