Another special thanks to HBC
At Christmas HBC decided to collect the bins early but neglected to inform the residents so not only do we have bins piled up with the 2 weeks rubbish prior to Christmas but we also have all the rubbish from Christmas in bags and more piling up as collection isnt due until next week.
Hope the fines for extra bags arnt implimented as the whole close will be in trouble. Anyone else in the ossy area get caught out through not been notified of the change in collection date ? Must be another cost cutting exercise not sending notification out of the changes |
Re: Another special thanks to HBC
Its the same all over the country Accyman, here in Hull and the East Riding, there is no collection till next week

Re: Another special thanks to HBC
Just spoken to my mother in law at West End and hers got collected as normal, but she does get confused so no guarantee.

Re: Another special thanks to HBC
Was it a different Christmas collection to previous years? If not, sounds as if the Close had a case of collective amnesia.

Seems to be guess work when collections will occur |
Re: Another special thanks to HBC
seems others further afield than my close were also not informed collections were two days early so looks like most of ossy had collective abnesia

Re: Another special thanks to HBC
Think mostly it was mon collections that were affected as it fell on boxing day and the tuesday was a bank hol too. I knew to put mine (recycling) out on the Saturday (xmas eve) only due to still using the HBC calendar but could see no one else on the street had and couldn't tell anyone as it was about 1.30 in the morning when I did it. However the New year bank hol (yesterday) they collected (refuse) as normal!!
So their argument will be that they had notified everyone by way of the 2 year calendar even though that calendar was sent out over a year ago and sure majority of people don't still have it. |

I put it there yesterday, being efficient I'd taken it down as I'd thought it was now out of date, would you believe it though, it was still showing September the month I'd finally got the thing onto the wall. |

The bin thing only made me laugh because the recycling calendar has been mentioned many times on here before. |

Re: Another special thanks to HBC
I'm a Monday collection, and missed mine, because it was on the Saturday of Christmas Eve.
Luckily there's only me, and I can manage, as I eat most of my rubbish. |
Re: Another special thanks to HBC
I think that HBC have had great bin collections over the festive periods for years. (weather permitting). Always had a collection between Christmas and New year unlike many other parts of the country.
And we are informed of a change in collection days. |

where ? because whatever method they used a hell of a lot of people didnt get their bins emptied . edit: by calendar apparently.Dont think mine lasted a week lol |
Re: Another special thanks to HBC
Well, Accyman, it's your own fault for throwing out your calendar. :p
It is very informative with pretty pictures and all collection dates. It even has a form you can fill in with your 'helpful' comments on their services. Printed on recyclable paper too. :D Would have thought, with you being computer au fait, you would know that you can access this calendar on line. Go on, try it : Hyndburn Borough Council - Refuse Collection Search - Search BTW.... if you had a Christmas tree, this will be collected in Oswaldtwistle and Knuzden on 17th January this year. |
Re: Another special thanks to HBC
if it was that calendar with old people grinning on it taken in a park then yes i got one but didnt take to it infact i think i got it around march .
As for visiting HBC website i just assumed it was as good as its forum and dont bother with it :D |

This is yours for this year ... please note your Christmas collections ...as normal (Monday collection 'Christmas Eve') .. don't forget is Leap Year. ;) http://www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/site/cu...uth%202012.pdf Shall I wipe your nose for you too... LOL. xx Quote:
I think the HBC website is good (approved by the Tories I think .. only as good as their employees/consultants) .. look around other councils' websites .. they are a labyrinth of total confusion. |
