Re: Hyndburn Homes - asbestos removal

My loft space will again be occupied by workmen next wednesday.
They are installing a firewall to replace the asbestos one which was removed.

So as well as the banging from the refurbishment of the flat below, I will have the added noise from above.

This was a peaceful place to live about 18months ago, but not much peace since.

It's enough to make an atheist join a convent:rolleyes:

Re: Hyndburn Homes - asbestos removal

I've just websearched about firewalls and am wondering how they will get gypsum sheets through a loft access hatch that is less than 2' square.

The alternative to the sheets is blockwork:eek: - my ceiling has already been damaged - looks like there is potential for more, even if the flimsy construction can cope with the weight.

Is there a third alternative way of installing a loft firewall that I didn't find whilst browsing?

PS I have found a 3rd way - rockwool

Large Voids, 1 Hour Cavity Barrier - Fire Barrier | Cavity Barriers | Fire Pro | Installation Guides | Tools | The Rockwool Guide

I hope they use it.
