Anyone who can afford a holiday in the current economic climate can also afford a quid for a trolley.

Even if thats true why should they get ripped off by manchester airport who made £58.1 million profit last year despite the current economic climate;)

Get your facts right, Manchester Airport is owned by Manchester City Council and the 9 other Greater Manchester local authorities.

Capitalist? If I lived in one of those authorities I'd be glad that the money from car parks etc was going to fund my local services and reduce my council tax burden.

Now thats an opportunity for you, selling brass washers at 50p outside the airport.
Your fortunes made.

PS wonder how many fiddles are going on, among those who return the trolleys, to the trolley park.
Retlaw.

It's not just M/C airport and one or two others started it a while ago.
Maybe when you get back put one in the taxi with you and get your quid back when you get home. :D:D:D:D

Manchester City Council - 55%
Metropolitan Borough of Bolton - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Bury - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Oldham - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale - 5%
City of Salford - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Stockport - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Tameside - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Trafford - 5%
Metropolitan Borough of Wigan - 5%
This is the split of ownership of Manchester Airport the company is known as MAG (Manchester airport group)The Manchester Airports Group Plc (MAG) is the country’s largest UK-owned airport operator. Their four airports - Manchester, East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside – currently serve a total of over 23.9 million passengers every year. And as you can see it is a plc so i doubt many of the council tax payers of Greater Manchester see much of the money it makes.

So if you went to Asda/Tesco would you be happy to pay a pound every time you went to use their trolleys and not get it back?
