Re: Women's Handbag
Well having read this thread and all the recorded bits bobs and the kitchen sink you lasses keep in your little carryalls for want of a better word, you will probably all end up with bad backs, bet my tool box didn't hold half the stuff you lot keep with you:D:D

Re: Women's Handbag
When I was keyholder at Melbourne House I carried a bunch of keys so big that it wore out my handbags from the inside out.
I had to relearn to walk without a list when I retired. |

My children do have a standing joke that the Carly Simon song 'Your'e So Vain' was written for me!

Re: Women's Handbag
Wouldn't dream of paying these silly amounts for a handbag .. who notices anyway ? Just the press sometimes when snapping celebrities unawares.
I wouldn't dream of paying more than £30 for one, and that would be a day one to hold all my 'bits n bobs'. Admit to about £25 and, forgive me, last two have been from M & S. Only 2 in ast 10 years/ Ones I have for evening are easily obtained for well under £20 and some very pretty ones out there. Just because some handbags have cost a fortune, doesn't make them attractive .... think they are rather dull actually. Nope, would sooner spend the money on a garment of clothing which is more visible and, let's face it, can buy lots of stunning clothes for £1,000. |
Re: Women's Handbag
Someone I work with has a thing about designer handbags, her work bag is a Mulberry (and it is beautiful) and she is currently saving for a chanel bag which costs thousands! I couldn't justify that amount of money and as Katex says who notices anyway - and even if they did what does it matter!

Re: Women's Handbag
Designer gear makes you a target.
People wearing Rolex watches get mugged for them. My eldest granddaughter is into buying designer gear. Her suitcase was the one that got lifted from the hotel lounge on her departure day. She got a bag for christmas a few years back and was drooling over it. It wasn't even leather - just some patterned fabric - looked cheapo to me. Designer gear suckers are being taken for a ride. It's all snob stupidity. |
Re: Women's Handbag
my purse lives in my jeans pocket .. my phone in the other jeans pocket ... fags and lighter in my coat pocket along with my buspass... the only time i use a handbag is when i go out .. or if im up at the spugsters .. and then it has a camera and a spare set of batteries, tissues, a tube of voltarol, a couple of pens, a tin of vaseline, a carrier bag and normally some sweeties but even then my purse and phone always stays in my jeans pocket ..

However, I do possess two pairs of Dior sunglasses, one of which I have had for seven years and still as good as new despite me having worn them a lot in both winter and summer (I have a dodgy eye which doesn't tolerate light well). In fact I can look like a real poser sometimes! I don't think I'd get the equivalent use or protection from cheaper ones although that's not the reason I got them - it was for the name! |
Re: Women's Handbag
It wasn't a designer suitcase, it was the clothing they had seen her wearing that week.
They must have watched her put it with everybody elses cases so they knew which one to take. |
