Extradition Treaty with the USA
The case of Christopher Tappin, the retired British businessman extradited to the USA for alleged arms dealing, has called into question the current extradition arrangements between the UK and the USA.
Has he been treated justly? His supporters claim that the British Government has "done nothing to question whether he should face extradition to the US. Not one piece of evidence has been given to a British court". On the other hand, an independent review of the UK’s extradition arrangements by retired Court of Appeal judge Sir Scott Baker last year found that the current treaty between the US and the UK was both balanced and fair. So what are we to believe? Is it reasonable to bring into the argument the case of alleged terrorist Abu Qatada, who has not been extradited to Jordan? Seems an urgent inquiry is needed. |
Re: Extradition Treaty with the USA
i think the way it works is that if you download an mp3 or movie you can be extrodited without question to america but if you attempt to blow up children with C4 or preech hatred and recruit members for islamic fundamentalists then you can stay in the UK and be kept safe by the british government

I think what has upset america about teh internet is that before the internet the american people were hidden from teh world and news only contained events local to the area such as mr browns dog had died today.Infact up until the internet the majority of them thought we all lived in castles and were all on first name terms with the queen lol.Now the american people can see what morons we think their government is and see the bigger picture where what their government says isnt always quite how it is. America has written a hell of a lot of laws as of late to protect music and movies but not so much in teh protection of children from pedos on the internet ;) It made sense to move to a uk server as obama would have roy up on charges of copyright for using the name accrington and have roy extrodited despite him not breaking any UK law which is what Obama is currently doing.( not roy personally lol ) |
