Just returning from asda about half seven and imagine my suprise to see a gritter spreading salt on whalley road, checked onboard computer 4 degrees, just checked met and bbc forecast and guess what 4 degrees overnight and 11 degrees tomorrow, for heavens sake HBC if you want to throw money away throw some my way. been out over winter ice on icy roads and not a gritter to be seen, please HBC sack the idiot in charge and save us all some money. PS current temp 4.2 degrees (climbed 5%) in last half hour

Perhaps they know something - to do with strange green lasers reported in the area:D

Gritting is done by HBC but it is LCC who say where to grit and pay for it as far as I know.
At the top of New Lane is Ossy was freezing about 7pm today and it was quite slippery.

Gritters were out our way last night. They went twice round the roundabout. But no ice on my windscreen at 6 this morning

Oh dear -poor you lot- here we've reached 20°C, first daffs out and it's beautiful and sunny during the day. Spring is in the air!:)

its not rainy here anymore, we are on the verge of a hosepipe ban. We are in the clutches of a drought
