No, the mother's from Hyndburn. That's the connection. I get it now. Obvious really. I saw her outside The Regency 42 years ago, the rest of the evening is a complete blank.

But I can't work out why he is a Labour Councillor when his mum is so obviously a Conservative. She was at the party conference last year, she likes to keep a low profile.

I have watched a long detailed interview of him on youtube.

It is just another story of alien abduction, of which there are many.

Whether you believe it or not depends on whether you are willing to consider it possible.

Incidentally, the depiction of ostriches here was misleading - the pictures he drew as a child (allegedly) looked more like praying mantids.

Even if you consider alien abduction is possible, there is no benefit to be gained from believing them all to be true - often they are fabricated for material gain (books sell) ;)

So it's factual is it?

Maybe in your world and on utube, where you seem to get most of your facts from, but here in the real world it's as fictional as your I.Q.

It seems strange only because this is happenining in the United Kingdom (albeit Yorkshire:rolleyes:). If this happened in the good ol' U. S. of A, it would raise few eyebrows. In fact, millions would probably vote for him in a Presidential election. I remember, years ago, Oral Roberts claiming that a 900 foot tall Jesus had ordered him to build a church, or something or other, and folks donated millions of dollars.:alright:

Only by asking people like Patrick Moore, how far away is the nearest inhabitable planet, that supports a life form capable of space travel.
If there is one why travel all this way to play silly buggers, with the idiots on this planet.
Why have the 1000's of telescopes searching the heavens, never detected any such space craft.
To support life over such vast distances, you would need a hell of a lot of water, to start with, then theres food, and air, even with recycling plants, you would still need a lot to start off, thats one big ship before you put people & engines in it.

OK I have an open mind on Aliens - it's possible!

Now the fact is if an Alien came down landed their craft on someones lawn and said "I want to talk to the person in this house!" Within minutes the house would be surrounded by Armed Police and cordoned off etc etc. You've seen the film "E.T." and what happens in this film - that is what would happen in reality also - that the government would isolate the Alien!

From the stand point it's clear why any Aliens there may be, would not openly visit any individual on this planet! What would happen has been documented in various Sc-fi films as stated; ET, Starman and The Man who fell to Earth! etc :hidewall: :D

I heard that Cllr Parkes had undergone a psychiatric assessment to prove he was of 'sound mind'. The doctor asked him ten questions including name, date of birth, date of Battle of Hastings etc, etc. It was going well until 10th question when the doctor asked him "Do you think Ed Milliband will win the next election?" Cllr Parkes answered "Yes, or course".

I don't know who Garinda is? Vaguely from threads I've picked up here - he lived in Accy but now is based in London and is involved in the rag trade! Oh I mean the fashion industry! That is from what he has mentioned on here and I have not read all his threads (forgive the pun ;)) just seen what he's posted in relation to common subjects! But he obviously knows who I am as he started a thread about the punk band I was in in Accrington!
