I have used that site for a long time now and find it interesting.

Where are the Russian ships? I will have a look to see where they go.

Probably they are too big to get up the Leeds Liverpool canal so we can rest in peace.

It's a great site, I first came across it when that Irish ferry was stuck on Blckpool sands a few years ago.

As well as Russian trawlers, there are vessels from Iceland, Faeroes, Holland, France, UK and Lithuania in that cluster. There must be a heck of a lot of fish!

A lot of them pull into Aberdeen & yes I'm aware of the AIS, due to my Dad's ship spotting tendencies & I did make mention of it in a blog I wrote a while back.

It is unlikely to be possible unless they are on just routine maneouvers near ports.

This is a news report that shows that the chinese are doing it surreptitiously.

Cookies must be enabled. | The Australian
Chinese military 'using WA station' to spy on warships

If the info was readily available on the web, there would be no need for what they are doing in Australia.

We once went to Morecambe to watch the traffic lights change- they're really good, three different colours! The crowds all cheered each time they changed.
After three hours we got fed up and went to see Eric- he's good too, never moves, not like those young 'performers' with white faces and clothes stood on boxes.
I think I prefer the traffic lights to cmons ships.

Each to his own, Gordon. Hope you stayed to watch the sunset, best in the world and more colours than the traffic lights.

I've always loved ships... watching them, being on them, and I think Cmon's site is fascinating. Only wish I could watch them for real here but no chance - have to go to Heysham or Glasson for that, our nearest places.

Really? We were so busy watching the lights and Eric, we never noticed.

By the way, cmon, if you see the Russian North Atlantic Fleet heading into the Irish Sea you must warn us!

Seriously, the site is quite interesting, it's astonishing how much shipping around us.

Susie, I posted that especially for you, I was sure you'd bite, you were quicker than I expected. Morecambe folk hate that joke.

We left our caravan on a site at Hest Bank for several years, lovely area, the sunsets are spectacular and we often went into Morecambe, especially for the Sunday Market(believe it's not so good now?) so I joke tongue in cheek. They made a good job of the Promenade but I don't think anything will get the town going again.

Thank you, Gordon, it's only the second time it's been aimed at me on Accyweb. We're only here because my partner works at the power station but I do like it. Don't frequent the market much unless I need something like a new broom, which I do at the moment as my last one fell apart and I need some new transport ;)

Regeneration will be a long time coming, if ever - one Midland Hotel doth not a new town make (hark at me!) but even my lovely Polish neighbours like living here!

Can't say I have a particular interest in ships.

Unless I'm on one. Going somewhere nice.

Though I'd just genuinely like to say I'm glad cmonstanley has.

It makes such a nice change, from the constant political cut and paste posts.

I've found it very refreshing, and in this case, I've actually read the links, and found them interesting.

I'd no doubt there was more than one string to your bow.

Though it's nice to see proof. Once again.

Thank you.
