anybody interested in ships
ive been having a prolonged break from work ,so ive been watching ships going up and down the coast when walking the dog.so to put a name to a ship i came accross this website Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions i know there is major nato excercises due with the amount of warships about but when i looked north west theres a fleet of russian fishing boats arrived.do we think our journalist friends will report this.

Re: anybody interested in ships
I have used that site for a long time now and find it interesting.
Where are the Russian ships? I will have a look to see where they go. Probably they are too big to get up the Leeds Liverpool canal so we can rest in peace. |

As well as Russian trawlers, there are vessels from Iceland, Faeroes, Holland, France, UK and Lithuania in that cluster. There must be a heck of a lot of fish! |
Re: anybody interested in ships
A lot of them pull into Aberdeen & yes I'm aware of the AIS, due to my Dad's ship spotting tendencies & I did make mention of it in a blog I wrote a while back.
Oh look ..... More Ships ! - Accrington Web For those of you who may be mildly interested. :) |

This is a news report that shows that the chinese are doing it surreptitiously. Cookies must be enabled. | The Australian Chinese military 'using WA station' to spy on warships If the info was readily available on the web, there would be no need for what they are doing in Australia. |

Re: anybody interested in ships
We once went to Morecambe to watch the traffic lights change- they're really good, three different colours! The crowds all cheered each time they changed.
After three hours we got fed up and went to see Eric- he's good too, never moves, not like those young 'performers' with white faces and clothes stood on boxes. I think I prefer the traffic lights to cmons ships. |
Re: anybody interested in ships
theres lovely scenery as well:p;)

I've always loved ships... watching them, being on them, and I think Cmon's site is fascinating. Only wish I could watch them for real here but no chance - have to go to Heysham or Glasson for that, our nearest places. |

By the way, cmon, if you see the Russian North Atlantic Fleet heading into the Irish Sea you must warn us! Seriously, the site is quite interesting, it's astonishing how much shipping around us. |

We left our caravan on a site at Hest Bank for several years, lovely area, the sunsets are spectacular and we often went into Morecambe, especially for the Sunday Market(believe it's not so good now?) so I joke tongue in cheek. They made a good job of the Promenade but I don't think anything will get the town going again. |

In fact I don't think there are any more jokes about Morecambe but you can understand why once you've been there. |

Re: anybody interested in ships
Can't say I have a particular interest in ships.
Unless I'm on one. Going somewhere nice. Though I'd just genuinely like to say I'm glad cmonstanley has. It makes such a nice change, from the constant political cut and paste posts. I've found it very refreshing, and in this case, I've actually read the links, and found them interesting. I'd no doubt there was more than one string to your bow. Though it's nice to see proof. Once again. Thank you. :) |

Come on, Wynonie, think what good it would do for Morecambe folk if they beat a club like Accrington Stanley! No more jokes. Well, not about Morecambe. |
