Re: Big fire accrington
Cab driver, taking me for my M.O.T. at Blackburn Royal, said it was causing chaos.
Perhaps it was someone just a bit slow, and they were lighting it like they lit bonfires for the Silver Jubilee...in 1977. |
Re: Big fire accrington
Given the amount of security in the area, I'm surprised that whoever started the fire as mentioned in the Telegraph article wasn't caught on the way into the building?
|
Re: Big fire accrington
was still a pump there bout hour ago and road blocked off. Will be chaos tomorrow if still sealed off
|
Re: Big fire accrington
Had someone bought that place and was turning it into a night club or sommat?
|
Re: Big fire accrington
Judging by the time the Fire Brigade was there,it won't be up too much!

Re: Big fire accrington
Way off topic, but do all you old farts (like me;)) remember what you were doing when JFK was shot? For me, I was playing snooker in the Con Club with Sid Wright and Ray Barker. The old club is not quite the fighting Temeraire, but I think it's sad to see dignified things come to an ignominious end.

Re: Big fire accrington
Thinking about it I was just going into St. Mary's Parish Hall on Lock Street Ossy, my mate was doing a disco there on the Friday night and somebody was coming out when they said JFK had been shot and had been rushed to Hospital, it was only later that I heard he was dead

Re: Big fire accrington
