Correct it was , though how Bob gets "Accys Second Record Shop" is beyond me?:confused: There were 2 main shops long before Disc @ Tape,plus a few others that didn't last long.

Disc and Tape bought my first record there, spent many a Saturday afternoon gassing in there !!

I remember Disc and Tape. We all used to go there as teenagers. When I first met my 'future' husband he couldn't decide which album to choose and asked for my opinion. I chose a Peter Gabriel album, he pulled his puss when he got home and found it was all in German!! Lol.:alright: were not together anymore as it happens, turns out I'm a dab hand at bad choices! :dancedog:

In 1956, there was only Haworth's of Steinway House and possibly Woolworth's where records could be bought in Acc. Then the shop I am talking about opened. I will enquire as to the name. Disc & Tape doesn't ring any bells.

Cannot recall Pauline Marshall or Disc and Tape, But i do know that Mary Mortimer, wife of Joe of Mort's dancing, opened a record shop when the dancing business was still operating. I believe, and stand to be corrected it was in Whalley Rd. below the bridge. That was the only only one i can ever remember apart from Haworth's.

Paulines Shop @ Marys were on the same block on Whalley Rd Marys was corner of block(Bottom of Dowry St) Paulines was around the centre of the block, virtually across the road from the Polish Grocers, This would be mid 60s Remember also another record shop before Wollworths on Broadway, forgot the name, but it had booths in were yeh could listen to a new record yeh were thinking of buying. also mid 60s, Disc n Tape arrived in 70s i reckon?:)

About what year would you say Pauline's opened Cashy?.

65 at a guess Irene, i nearly always used her,she gave a much better customer service i thought. possibly a bit earler, memorys not as was, lol

Problem solved Cashy. Thats why i don't remember her. I got married in 63, never had any money to buy records after that.

I've checked with the afore-mentioned Eunice Kerr. She says it was 'Abbey TV'. r co-worker was Joan - I've forgotten her surname. Eunice's dad was a top snooker player and ref. Her only had one leg. They lived on Derby St. She has a brother, Michael.
