Parking on Morrison's (Netto) Car Park

Be careful Accywebbers , the time limit for parking on the above car park has been reduced to 1.5 hours

I rang the lady in the article up to advise her not to pay, the car park is not council owned so the tickets cannot be enforced. She had already paid as the fine went to £100 if not paid within 18 days. I also rang the lady from the pub who had been done, luckily someone else had already told her not to pay it, & she has contacted the council about it. if you are unlucky & get a ticket from these cowboys DO NOT PAY as tickets issued on private land cannot be enforced. Don't enter into consultation with them just throw it in the bin.

You can be taken to civil court and sued for the money however it is very unlikely this would happen. There have been cases that have gone through the courts though. From experience do not enter into any dialogue with them. You may get phone calls as they can find your address out from DVLA. Again don't speak with them. You will then get letters from a debt collection agency. This is usually from the same address as the issuer of the parking ticket. It's more often than not the same company. Again just keep ignoring. They will go away as it costs them to chase it.

there was an article on watchdog where DVLA sell drivers details to so called reputable companies like councils and legal clamping companies etc but these companies then sell on the lists with no regard who to.

one company had fallen fowl of the DVLA on 3 occasions abusing members of the public yet they were allowed back on teh reputable companies list

In my opinion the only people who should have any access to your details are the police.I wouldnt even trust teh council with them it is too much resposability for them to handle and i dont mean just HBC i mean teh whole lot of them

Again from experience I wouldn't trust the police to be honest about anything. I am more law abiding than a couple of policemen I know.

An old adage.
Set a thief to catch a thief.

Sound advice given by all. Anyone receiving a threat of a "fine" on a private (not Council) car park should ignore it. Further guidance, if needed, is available on PePiPoo: Helping the motorist to get justice
