Accy Town hall vandalised

Some idiot vandalised the town hall this afternoon. Red spray paint across front "death cover up." and some other nonsense down broadway side & on some shutters further up on opposite side. what cost to clean it off. In broad day light too

HBC paid an arm and a leg to put CCTV in the town centre. If someone ran down Broadway on a Friday afternoon painting slogans on shutters, they will have featured on at least 6 cameras at the police station.

We await the dawn raid on a house in Accrington.

I think the cameras were attached to the benches.

Maybe now something has happened to the Town Hall the council may actually wake up and smell the coffee that the town centre really is as bad as we keep telling them

Don't tell me nobody saw this taking place:rolleyes: Spotted it whilst travelling through this afternoon but assumed it was done whilst the town centre was quiet(not that it gets overly busy at the best of times). A disgrace if it was done this afternoon and the perpertrator wasn't arrested whilst in the act:mad:

I am pleased to confirm the idiot was arrested at the top of Broadway, after someone who isn`t me rang the police and stayed onto 999 whilst the police turned up.

I believe they have given a full statement and the offender is now in Greenbank Police Station Custody Suite!

Result - the town (Accrington) is bad enough without this being allowed in daylight.

A simple way to deal wi such people, would be deduct the FULL cost of the clean up from there benefits, or in the unlikely event they are working, from wages, plus if underage deduct from the parents, I reckon vandalism would soon reduce,if anyone had the balls to do this.

Cashy they can't get um to pay fines let alone pay for the clean up, think its about 40% of fines are never collected:mad:

Jay you should know by now that use of the % sign is only allowed if the figures 9 & 5 are placed in front of it.
As in:-

95% of the Accrington people don't understand enough about the EEC to be allowed a referendum.

Here as well as the costs, they make them clean it up physically -fair enough -makes them realise how much damage they've done -not easy to clean!
