Bus trapped under bridge in Accrington
A BUS has got stuck after hitting a railway bridge in Accrington, and firefighters are working to free it.
Police were called to the accident in Lonsdale Road, at 4.38pm, and are dealing with traffic in the area. No injuries have been reported. Northern Rail services between Blackburn and Colne and Hebden Bridge have been delayed by up to 30 minutes. Carolyn Watson of Northern Rail said: “We were alerted just before 5pm that there had been a bridge strike in Lonsdale Road, Accrington. Given the attititude of some of the bus drivers we see on Peel St they will probably claim the bridge had no right to be there :)

usually happens at the bottom of willows lane.A lad i worked with was sat up top deck and sat pooping his pants as the seats got crushed one row at a time coming towards him .
as work mates we were very sympathetic and bought him a double decker chocolate bar when he returned to work :) |
