So sorry to hear this sad news Jeff,s pic of a school photo from Benjamin Hargreaves was the reason I first came on this site and I never found out who he was, could someone please enlighten me sas his surname Bannister ? RIP Jeff & thanks for the pic.

Re: Jeff R.I.P.
Yes his surname was Bannister such a sad loss of a lovely bloke
|
Re: Jeff R.I.P.
I am assuming that Jeff Bannister is the lad who lived in Bold St and lent me some postcards to include in my book 'Accrington Acclaimed' He attended Accrington Grammar School 1959-64, so would be 64ish. When I last spoke with him he was working in Middleton (?) I hope I'm wrong. I think his pen-name was Accyjeff

Re: Jeff R.I.P.
I worked with Jeff for 12 years here in Middleton. I am so sad to have lost a true true friend and also a father figure. I owe so much to Jeff and live my life alot of the ways he taught me. I will never forget such a truly amazing person, (although he was also 1 of the moodiest people i have met) I am so worried that i wont get the details of his funeral so if someone could post on here if they find out just so i can be sure. So sad. R.I.P r Jeff!!xxxxxx

Re: Jeff R.I.P.
Lol the moodiness is what made Jeff be Jeff believe me but deep down he had a heart of gold and was a genuine and lovely man. I will hopefully be hearing details of the funeral in the next few days so will let anyone on here know when I do

Re: Jeff R.I.P.
I too worked with Jeff in Middleton for 5 years, so sad that he never got the chance to enjoy his retirement. I will miss his stories about Stanley and Bold Street, even though we didnt always see eye to eye I always had the greatest respect for him, espescially over the past few months the way he coped with his illness. Rest in peace Jeff!!!!!!!

Re: Jeff R.I.P.
So sorry to hear the sad news.
It was always great to catch up with Jeff at away games, no matter how distant the venue, he always seemed to be there. He'll be missed. |
