This morning on Sunday Morning Live - Corrie Actor Bill Roache says that we should forgive Mass Murderers.

He made this statement on the program and here is a rather badly recorded video of it on You Tube

I've just uploaded this better version on my You Tube Channel (nicknameSGB) you can hear it better. There is part missing at the beginning where he says that "human beings are pure love in their purest form!"

A point I'd like to make here is that I don't necessarily agree with what Bill Roache is saying - I can see things from both sides and understand the "gut reaction" of people wanting revenge on murderers. So just because I posted this doesn't mean I am saying I agree whole heartedly with this.

Baloney! It's about forgiving idiots for doing stupid things in life, which your niggling post indicates you have a grudge against me - Small change, compared to someone who's had their child murdered and wants to see somebody die for it.

The issue is as stated; Forgiving people for indiscretions whether large or small.

Also I thought it was against the rules to post off topic all the time which a lot of you folks keep doing.

Fact is whatever emotions of a negative nature anyone holds onto, whether that is in relation to mass murderers or internet trolls and bad mouthers - it's your brain, your pain and your poison. So best let go of those negative vibes and try and be happy - that's my wisdom for today. :D

If this thread is about Bill Roache - AKA Ken Barlow from Corrie - can anyone please say how many inhabitants of that infamous street have met a grisly end over the last 51 years? Can anyone do the stats and work out how many that is per house? And therefore is it possible that Mr Roache - now rapidly approaching his ga-ga years - is now failing to distingush from his soap opera and reality.


PS....Ga-Ga - my apologies to those of you lot who suffer from this terrible ailment.

Thanks for that Mick - now back on track.

There is a Jewish bloke who lived through the concentration camps and saw members of his family die, who came out of it and said he forgave the people that did it to him and his family. That was on Radio 4 and the guy claimed he had forgiven and had no grudge - now I found that very hard to believe. But he did it. I forget his name now perhaps a search of Google might bring it up.

Forgiving is a wise thing to do if you can manage it, because harbouring hate and bearing grudges prevents you from getting on with living.

Most people struggle to forgive and the passage of time helps.

It took me 20 years to forgive my ex husband for 8 years of hell.
Eventually I understood why he behaved as he did, and that was the start of forgiving.

Good points Margaret.

It's easier to forgive if an event is over and there is time to forgive. But not if someone is in a conflict zone and had their family killed, they often then take up arms to get revenge then another person loses family and then no one can forgive as it just spirals out of control. This is how you get these disputes that go on for decades with people in conflict.
