Now that just goes to show you the bits I don't read in the papers doesn't it?

lettie 03-11-2004 07:28

Re: Wife swap

Hmmm, looks like someone's been busy. I never watch wife swap. I saw the first one a couple of years back and thought it was a load of rubbish so never bothered with it again. I tend not to read the tabloids either for the same reason....:)

WillowTheWhisp 03-11-2004 07:43

Re: Wife swap

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Most "newspapers" seem to contain very little actual news.

Re: Wife swap

That's true. These tv shows are even worse. The cheapest form of entertainment (and I use that word for want of a better one) Shows like this and of course the dreadful daytime dross that we have to endure in this country such as Trisha are nothing more than 'wash your dirty linen in public' shows. The people who go on these 'talk ' shows make the asylum in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' look like a nice place.:)

I would have thought he might have come back to make some sort of comment on last nights show but there's time yet.

But they are fantastic if you are feeling down. You watch and think that no matter HOW bad your life may be at least you havn't had to stoop to plastering your problems all over television.:D

:rofl38: I suppose that's true. Some of the people on these shows are so pathetic that I stopped watching them a long time ago. I think the only reality type/problem show I watch is 'How clean is your House' I love it when Kim and Aggie tell the people whos houses they're cleaning what dirty beggars they are....:)

Come on - everyone secretly loves these programs cos we're all nosey and like to compare our own lives with others. And now the TV has replaced local community and gossips over the garden fence - these programs were destined to happen!!!

Re: Wife swap

Well folks....just had to search the forum to see if anyone had written about the show.
If you have read the burnleyweb forum on this subject you will see that the show was edited badly in becky's favour, but that is what makes a tv show.
Some of it was true i grant you but 75% was bulls*it.
They planted some of the things when she went into the house on the first day but that is another story.
Anyway hope you enjoyed the show.

Jason

I thought that would be the answer. So how has it changed your life for the better?

jason 26-03-2005 22:11

Re: Wife swap

It changed a lot of things,i was a strong person b4 the show but i am a lot stronger now and the only things that matter to me are my kids.

I got woken up to a lot of things,my homelife,my worklife etc etc.......I decided it needed changing and that is exactly what i did.

A lot of people just take life for granted, but you cant, you have to make it better for yourself and your family,no-one is perfect and no-one has a perfect life.......if someone came into anyone elses life they would show them another way to do things, but it may not work for that person,BUT IT DID FOR ME.
Some people do not like change.......i didn't before the show, but it made me realise that things had to change.
Going through the motions is no good for anyone, especially when you have children.

The press intrusion was phenomenal after the show as we were the first couple to ever split up in the show.

Tinkerbelle 26-03-2005 22:16

Re: Wife swap

So you don't regret doing it?

jason 26-03-2005 22:22

Re: Wife swap

Sometimes when i look back on the scrapbook with all the press and magazines cuttings.......when i feel a little down.:(

.......But i dont regret doing the show because as i say,it changed my life..........dramatically.

Becky and i are really really good friends,we have to be for the kids, and who knows what the future holds!!

We set up the max and paddy forum together as we are fans of the show,so we got our heads together and decided to do that.It brought us a bit closer believe it or not (because we was in constant contact),the kids see Becky most days,i never ever stop her seeing them.

Would you do the show?.................or anybody else?

Tinkerbelle 26-03-2005 22:25

Re: Wife swap

God yeah, I would do the show but I don't think there's alot of men that could put up with me :D !!

Re: Wife swap

Just noticed i am in the sunday sport today,no not with my breasts out lol.

I fanyone has this paper, have a look on page 38.

The story goes...............

LOUDMOUTH wife swap star Becky Fairhurst has ben blasted by her hubby for ditching three kids to clinch a job as a tv reporter.
The busty blonde,29,has been snapped up by scouse comic paul o'grady to be an obnoxious interviewer to the stars on his new itv show.
But foul-mouthed Becky has walked out on kids Kiowa,3,Ziegan,4,and Tyler,11 to give her the time to take up her new job.
Becky and her 20st beer guzzling partner Jason Hill made history last year when they became the first ever wife swap couple to split up following the show.
Angry Jason,31,has revealed that the peroxide blonde left him holding the babies after moaning that she never had enough time to do her own thing.
He added, being on the show made her stronger, but it has also made her more selfish.she decided she wanted to enjoy being single again and go out every night.

I have not spoken to the sport newspaper at all,so wherever they got that from is bulls**t.
I am not 20 stone the cheeky ba****ds.......i'm a healthy 13,yes i like my beer.who doesn't!!
It was my decision to finishe work and take the kids, becky never dumped them on me.
She went for a screen test in leeds for the Paul o'grady show,i should know....i took her, but she hasnt heard anything about it.So whoever gave them the story she got the job it is news to us!
At least they put me as 31 and not my real age of 32!

Tinkerbelle 27-03-2005 17:20

Re: Wife swap

Luckily Jason it's only The Sunday Sport not many people read the stories they only buy it for the pictures  They are a law unto themselves honestly!! Never mind let's hope Becki has got the Paul O'Grady job!

Re: Wife swap

Really having a go at Burnley today, this in the News of the screws

I know many people dont buy The Sun or The News Of The World (NOTW), but today there is an article on page 45 of the NOTW and it can only be discribed as disgusting.
There is a report that is apparently trying to put Labours new imigration law to the test. Personaly it reads more of an attack on Burnley.
Its is written by a reporter who is from Burnley claims that he grew up on an estate where outsiders are treated with 'distain' especially those ten miles away in Blackburn.
It also says 'Burnley is about as multi-cultural as an eskimo village purched on the north pole'
It says there are more non-white faces on the pitch at Turf Moor than in the entire crowd.
It says that 'one worthy tells me he has seen school buses with all asians at the back and all whites at the front. And that hasnt happened in America for 50 years.'
It says white peolpe dont want to mix, we dont know each other and dont like what we dont know.
There may be groups of Asians at the end of a bus and whites at the other, but this is because they are with friends, in the years I have been using buses in Burnley I have never seen an Asian asked to sit at the back of the bus.
People may not take to outsiders, but which society does??

Then there is a small article saying that Coal, Cotton and Soccer was what brought Burnley together. Now only soccer is left. And Dave Edmundons says " We want to play a big part in the areas regeneration that includes everyone'
Itr goes on to say HE has signed Burnleys first Asian player and if he turns out like Jimmy Mc it could be just what the town needs said one white race activist.
Then there is a comment from Edmundson which I find shocking and disgusting, in one quick sentance he manages to offend every person in the country who have a skin head by saying "When Amir Khan wrapped himself in the Union Flag, even the skinheads cheered"

Meaning what exactly Mr Edmundson??

I'll be talking to my solicitor tomorrow!!..........cant find an email address for the sport, can anyone else?
How dare they call me when they dont know me.............I have never been 20 stone and never will be.They really should get their facts right!I'll be asking for a retraction and an apology!

ime not 100% on this but to sue you need plenty of money and the sh1t rags like the sunday sport know that average people cant afford lible cases so they say what they want about them

would be nioce for you to get some cash but i doubt you will even get it to court unles you got plenty of money

good luck though they should print less bull and use the space to put more naked women on the pages as thats all that paper is good for

Its on page 45 and the reporter was Chris Buckland!............But i dont know him!!

Bazf 27-03-2005 20:46

Re: Wife swap

Chris Buckland is the incumbent political columnist replacing Sion Simon who wrote well-argued pieces for ‘The Daily Telegraph’ when he turned to the ‘NotW’ to write pathetic half-page soundbites. Chris Buckland like Richard Stott before him feel rabid and old hat (any old news). The ‘News of the World’ overall feels it’s the fountain of all knowledge and when it is proved they’re fallible, they’re unapologetic about it and carry on with the next thing as though it never happened....where it is partisan it is merely patronising (oh, and of course, wrong....).Nobody has the guts to tell Britain’s biggest selling Sunday newspaper what to do and where they should stick it

The women are such total opposites. I found myself agreeing with points from both of them and disagreeing with a lot of things from both too.

jason 15-04-2005 21:35

Re: Wife swap

I'm glad you said that willow,as most people just looked at beckys role and took it for granted that is what she was like, but like most things in this world......dont believe it.

WillowTheWhisp 15-04-2005 21:45

Re: Wife swap

I could see her point of view regarding the other children how they needed to be allowed to chill out.

I hate mess and my kids will tell you that I'm always complaining about not wanting to live in a pig sty and going on at them to tidy up. "I'm fighting a losing battle." is one of my stock phrases along with "Every step forward I take you drag me back two!"

I believe they should do some share of the housework too because it teaches them responsibility but getting up at 5am to clean??? That is extreme! And the loo brush is only there for show? Purleeese!

BUT, I also totally agreed that young children being left to wake up alone could be very dangerous because you never know what they could get up to. The knife and scissors could have been lethal.

I loved the look on the faces of the other kids though when they had a chores free week and allowed to let their friends in.

Also I would never go through their things like that. They are entitled to some privacy. Shame they didn't all get to keep their keys.

jason 15-04-2005 21:54

Re: Wife swap

That particular morning after we went out,the crew had their own keys and let themselves in when they wanted to.
They woke the kids up,the kids came down and did the mess, they just happened to leave tyler in bed,and never woke me up.
I never (and i swear on my life) i never leave cans out for them and they never went into the knife drawer.I cleaned all the mess up myself (no-one helped) but i dont expect them too.
The crew filmed the kids doing all the mess, why didn't they wake one of us?
This is sunday morning at 6.30 am.......................you tell me one person who gets up at that time after a night out? (someone will come on now and say me!!)watch it!!
On a Sunday it would be becky that got up with them and i have a lie in as i worked 6 days a week,i did do the housework and the cooking on a sunday but becky would normally have got up.they missed all this out,but what do you expect?..this is a tv show afterall.

WillowTheWhisp 15-04-2005 22:04

Re: Wife swap

It was obvious that they wanted to show two totally extreme opposites.

As for getting up at 6:30am on Sundays, no, I don't get up until 7:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. I get up at 6:30 the rest of the week and the kids never get up before I do. I have to make sure they get up.

Sorry Jason I don’t have any of Becky or the kids on there own or the bar stools.
Unfortunately I only got the camera out near to the end of the program. But what I have I shall resize them and pass them on to you and you can do, what ever with them.

Re: Wife swap

hey jason i will be totaly level with you and admit that when i saw the bit where the kids were playing with beer and the ashtrays and then having the knife and scissors pointed out i was thinking what the f**k is this guy playing at

after coming to this thread and reading what you said about how they set you up i totaly blieve you man and besides the camera men not stopping them who the hell did that woman think she was shouting at as she could have gotten out of bed and stopped them so she had no right standing there telling you that you should have done it

if i was staying at somones house and saw their kids messing up i would stop them and would most definatly move a knife if i saw one lying on the floor so she in my opinion should have done the same and had no right pointing the finger at you

ps:

you look realy short on tv i imagined you been taller

are you realy short or was it my widescreen tv making you look short lol

Re: Wife swap

Definately the latter!!
lol

I did a story to a reporter exposing all the flaws in the programme,he hasn't used it yet,but is waiting for the new series to come on later on this year.

.......And the dvd that was shown at the end of the programme is one that has been out ages (series 1 & 2).....ours was on series 4.
The dvd is out later this year with series 3 & 4.

Hi Jason
I have put all the photos that I have into the gallery for the time being.
Once you have copied them I shall then remove them from the gallery. Let me know when you have saved them.

p.s.
your sig needs resizing, a bit big.

Re: Wife swap

The sig looks ok to me,squashes the info on the right, but at least it isnt extending the page like some peoples.
