Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
the silly old get david attenballs was on the news tonight babbling about it,in australia, never mentioned the fires were stated by people not the weather, 2 prosecuted last week, he is nothing but a liar.:( he also said the young are taking notice, well they would be wouldnt they? i believed any owd crap when i was young.

Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
Thinking of making a FOI request to the BBC asking them how many air journeys Attenborough, and his entourages, have made in, say, the last ten years, paid for by the BBC.
The so-called news tonight was nothing but Warmist Propaganda. Not a single voice suggesting these fires in Oz might just be worse because, over the last few years, the Green Loons in Local governments have made clearing fire breaks and fallen brushwood a criminal offence. Expect to hear Attenborough announcing soon that he’ll never fly again to some warm paradise. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
I wonder what steps the Australian government actually took before all these fires started - to prevent them?
Knowing the weather was extremely hot and the place would be a tinder box, did they actually do any preventative work such as clear areas of all burnable material to prevent spread? Heck are they even doing that now? |

The children in schools are not being taught to think....they are being taught WHAT to think.
They are having their brains rinsed with all the propaganda about climate change. This does not stop them wanting their parents to run them about in their cars, or making them stop using (and wanting) the latest tech and mobile phones(all made in the country that produces the most carbon emissions...China). |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
The only way the policies of de-industrialisation will work is by reducing the global population to a pre-industrial level (which was about three quarters of a billion). So in order to save civilisation they will need to lose over six sevenths of the world's population in order to achieve a "sustainable" planet. Seems like the disease is preferable to the cure.

His carbon footprint must be huge....but it is OK....the current fears about the spread of the Coronavirus will soon stop folk jetting about needlessly....it is going to see off a few million all over the world, so it will prune the overpopulation a bit. I wonder if this will put a smile on the faces of the woke climate change protagonists. Just an aside. This Coronavirus is supposed to have come from space....and has landed on earth because of reduced sunspot activity which weakens the earths barrier of magnetic force, keeping away these harmful viruses. Or maybe it landed because of climate change....or maybe we affected the sunspots with our carbon emissions I will let you all pick the bones out of that soup. |

What’s most worrying is that not a single agent of the MSM (main stream media) even appear interested in looking into the story behind Greta inc. None of the established news outlets, CNN, CBS, ABC, FOX, BBC, SKY - pick your TLA, none of them do anything more than push press and Google Page Ranking releases from Greta inc, unchallenged. George Orwell really got it spot on about the manipulation of the mass media, it’s just the year he got slightly wrong. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
While I had not seen this video before(and isn't it an eye opener when it comes to how the reporter is treated - that alone should ring great bonging alarm bells) I have read stuff about how this child is being manipulated by corporate business with Green energy agenda's.
Her parents are culpable in this. As for the school strikes....I bet the vacuous children that join them all over the world do not know that she attends a school where attendance is NOT obligatory....that pupils are allowed to miss school if they have a mental health episode. So her school strike is bogus....but this is not reported at all....so she is also complicit in manipulating the youth all over the world. She is also responsible for the burgeoning mental health issues affecting young people who believe everything they are being fed. This information is being reinforced by celebs and governments who feel unable to challenge what this child is saying.....they do not wish to be seen as bullying a mentally compromised girl. This is the greatest 'emperors clothes' manipulation ever.....and it is commercially based. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
It’s beyond pathetic. Or is it insidious?
Of all the hundreds of thousands of words on Wikipedia, etc about St.Greta, there is no information about the actual school she allegedly attended, and from which she allegedly went on strike. I googled ‘which school did Greta Thurnberg attend’ and found nothing, except articles like these two, which seem to accept it’s a wonderful idea for children to skip school, from allegedly reliable media outlets. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/ar...pulsory-school https://www.irishtimes.com/news/scie...hool-1.4060190 |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
well the Irish Times is nothing but a joke. certainly dont view em as reliable. the irish independant was a far better news outlet.
|
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
A comment in the Irish times says that she has science on her side.
This is not exactly true. Scientists have been wrong so many times in the past and it was shown that the studies done in Cambridge a few years ago were hugely flawed because the inputting of information had been skewed. They formulate algorithms to create computer models and these then spew out results.....but rubbish in means rubbish out. But we are not encouraged to have this view, let alone express it. Being labelled a climate change denier is almost as bad as being labelled transphobic or racist.....not permitted in this PC world. And yes...it is insidiously manipulative. |

Ye gods this is all getting just a little bit silly!
I forsee some white middle class spoilt brat demanding in the media that all black people should be punished if they swat a mosquito, from now on they must allow it and the diseases it carries to thrive in their natural environment. The worse thing about such a suggestion is of course that all the other white middle class spoilt brats will jump on the bandwagon and demand it becomes international law. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
Less, all of it pathetic virtue signalling.....proclaiming themselves to be better than the hoi polloi.
Like Prince Charles(he was 'woke' long before the phrase was coined... though I prefer the term 'nutty') who had flown gooodness knows how many miles in a private jet to meet up with and laud St Greta the Manipulated, over her speeches and making the world take notice of her business motivated agenda(well not here exactly, but the CEO of Google Page ranking who is making a lot of money out of her). It used to be the mention of the EU or that Bercow creature that put my hackles up...but now it is her with her sanctimonious twaddle. I need to find a cave somewhere lonely. |

In 1972 the pesticide DDT, the most effective pesticide against malaria, was banned by the then recently formed Environmental Protection Agency in the USA after Rachel Carson’s book, ‘Silent Spring’, claimed it would result in a cancer epidemic that would affect ‘practically 100 per cent’ of the human population. This ban was made despite the EPA’s seven month hearing concluding that ‘DDT is not a carcinogenic hazard to man...’. Rachel Carson is a goddess to the Eco-Fundamentalists and was recently lauded as such on BBC Radio 4. However, there are some who suggest that her book, by inspiring this ban, has indirectly been responsible for millions of deaths from malaria. But, maybe because of where these deaths occur, the white middle-class eco-warriors are OK with it. |

Well Exile...maybe she is trying to exercise some sort of population control....since people are (allegedly) one of the biggest causes of climate change.
Since this outbreak of Coronavirus in china I am sure there will be fewer flights taken...fewer journeys made...more deaths Mother Nature is doing her bit to assist St Greta in her efforts. and I know that this may seem to be in very bad taste...or at best not politically correct, but I am not a newsreader on ITN |

So what do we do with the waste from Pringles?
How can we save the world when there is a delicious product we can’t resist packed with :- A plastic lid, a foil seal, a cardboard tube & a metal base. Recycle what? Come on be honest if we care about the environment (which I don’t very much) then manufacturers should put things in easily separated components that can be sorted. Less, the manufacturers do not care either.
Once the product reaches you it ceases to be their problem. And for those who say that manufacturers DO care....this is just corporate virtue signalling...they don't care REALLY....well, as long as consumers continue to buy the product. |

I was wondering how Extinction Rebellion Vegans can reconcile their beliefs. If we stop eating beef then there will be more and more moo-ing things creating more greenhouse gases (cows already account for 16% of them apparently) so those of us who eat beef are actively helping reduce CO2 emissions.
|
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
I think they know that if we all went vegan(no beef, no milk, no cheese, no animal meat at all) then farmers would not raise these animals....but what a dreary life it would be.
Anyway, Mother Nature is doing her best to pare down the population with coronavirus. A reduction in population would reduce greenhouse gases. |

Yorkshire pudding goes with all roasts. Roast Vegan....mm, that is what the cannibals call 'long pig' so maybe a bit of sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce would be good too. The pre-occupation with vegan food leaves me cold. And vegans look so thin and miserable....well, that should be no surprise....how can you be joyful eating lentils and tofu? |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
Another question is....why do vegans want to eat fake sausage rolls and steak bake(or as I prefer to call the 'fake' bakes)
If they are vegans, then they will have no experience to compare one of these travesties to the taste of real steak in puff pastry....nor any experience of what a good(preferably home made) sausage roll really tastes like either. Don't appropriate the names to the vegan alternatives....call then what they are....a lentil and chemically flavoured pastry...or a pea protein and chemically flavoured slice. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
I know I've mentioned it before but I enjoy a good vegetable soup or a vegetable pie but if the package is labelled vegetarian instead of vegetable I won't buy it just another of my little prejudices against these strange creatures.

All that siad, it really is NOT her fault. She is the unwitting pawn of those who would profit from 'green supporting industries'. You know...those firms that will be quids in when we are forced to give up our gas central heating in favour of electric...when we ditch petrol driven cars for the electric versions.... No one has yet come uo with sensible ideas as to how all this Electric power will be sustainably(greenly) generated.....Wind power is not going to cut it. Boris would be better giving up on building a bridge to Ireland and concentrating all his efforts on generating electricity from tidal power....now that might make some sense. |

Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
Yes, just why is there no flooding on the Somerset Levels this time around despite Storms Andy and Pandy?
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/202...limate-change/ Get the b****y rivers dredged where necessary. |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
So down in shrewsbury where it flooded before and has flooded again - despite having ample warning that there are going to be more floods coming, people left stuff low down - important stuff - stuff that cannot be replaced - and it got flooded and ruined.
Why did they, knowing that it was likely to flood - not even make an attempt at moving stuff higher up? |
Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
and they will still build more houses where flooding has took place at some time or another.

Re: The weather around the world has gone mad
Quote:
According to the Environment Agency’s flood mapping, EVERYWHERE is in Flood Zone, which range from Zone 1 (low probability; 1 in 1000) to Zone 3 (high probability; 1:100 chance of flooding in any one year). So, every house that’s ever been built is in one Flood Zone or another. It’s virtually impossible to get approval to build houses in Zone 3 and Zone 3b is classed as ‘functional flood plain’. Where, under exceptional circumstances, new housing is allowed in Zone 2 in my experience there are too many agencies and people involved in decision making to simply get away with bunging some local councillor a brown envelope. Having said that, the EA’s Flood zone mapping is notoriously unreliable. Basically it works on past flood events and, where there haven’t been any, uses contours and river levels to guesstimate the extent of a 1 in 100 year downpour. Which is why, following extensive flood risk assessments, some housing developments do end up being approved in Zone 2. The Somerset Levels have been functional flood plains for millennia and were flooded a few years ago, causing great distress to both residents and David Cameron’s government. Afterwards, for once, the latter listened to local knowledge, not theoretical EU eco-dogma, and allowed rivers to be dredged, as they had always been in the past. And, so far in this year of very exceptional rain fall, that area has not seen similar flooding. |
