Do you remember...................
www.accy.co.uk
www.hyndburn.co.uk www.accrington.org www.accy.info www.hyndburn.org www.oswaldtwistle.net I thought these were going to be links to Hyndburnlife when they were first drawn to our attention, but it appears not. |
Re: Do you remember...................
Interesting Willow...Looks to me a type of Kipax buy-out. Remember how he was so keen on buying up domains and dot whatevers?
There's skullduggery afoot...mark my words!!!!!! Roy!!! any comments? However, it won't affect me...I'm only interested in Accyweb....and its inhabitants.....and I'm loyal too. So why look elsewhere? But there's nowt as queer as folks!! |
Re: Do you remember...................
I look at Hyndburnlife in the vain hope that there will actually be some life on there but AccyWeb is far more interesting.
I think it was Kipax who first brought all those domain names to our attention. Somebody obviously bought them for a reason but if it was Hyndburnlife they must have forgotten to link them to the real website. Or maybe they did and the links don't work? |

Re: Do you remember...................
In a flash of inspiration, it occured to me today, just how stupid HBC really are! (ok, I knew that but...)
Hyndburnlife is theoretically a site mainly for those who wish to come into this area as tourists, informing them of the delights in the area....but apart from the local population, who has heard of Hyndburn? For the few outsiders that HAVE heard the name, put in a google search and you DON'T get Hyndburnlife! What you do get is a very good site sponsored by the Evening Telegraph www.itshyndburn.co.uk which provides everything that the H.B.C. can only dream of. For a fraction of the cost of £650.000-00, they could have suggested a partnership with the telegraph in the running of the site (on the condition that they (the council) do not interfere;) ) I found "itshyndburn" to be one, if not the best, informative sites around and if the H.B.C's other sites (accy.co.uk etc) had been given to the designers of "itshyndburn" with links that actually worked, it would have been dynamic and perhaps one of the best sites in the U.K. My last comment (perhaps) on the subject, If they had £650,000-00 to spend, WHY wasn't investment made to put the site at the top of the Google search engine?? |
Re: Do you remember...................
You are assuming that someone at HBC actually knows what a search engine is.
Judging by the response received when trying to explain the problems with the website I honestly wonder if there is anyone involved with it who has a clue, or even half a clue. Anybody thinking of coming to Accy is likely to key "Accrington" into google and come up with this website which will be far more interesting for them anyway. We've actually got members here posting! :D |
