Accrington Web - Other Council's seem to be doing alright

Just read a very good article that included this bit on council spending. What are HBC doing wrong??

YOU know all that public money - our money - sloshing around in the system?

This is where it goes.

The local council in Camden applied for a grant to rejuvenate one of its sink estates. The only problem is that having secured £2 million of taxpayers' cash, the residents' committee didn't know what to do with it.

So they're going to build a crazy golf course for disaffected, glue-sniffing, gun-toting youths. No, really.

A moronic councillor, who has clearly never been to Blackpool or Southend, says brightly: "Maybe a champion golfer will come out of the estate."

Listen, love, Tiger Woods didn't get where he is by whacking a golf ball through the windmill or by sinking a two-putter via the spiral staircase.

Crazy golf isn't real golf. That you should think it is, and that you're willing to spend £2 million on something you don't even understand, says it all.
