Our wonderful efficient council
My Granddaughter has just started paying Council Tax in her own name and has set up a DD to pay it each month, she's been complaining that they hadn't taken the money for Feb when she got a final warning to pay by 20 March or become libel for the full amount immediately. So yesterday she rang HBC, it took her 10 minutes to get through to the switchboard and when she did was told she was 23rd in the queue and it would be around 25 minutes before she would be dealt with. Maybe if they got things right, like take money from people who have ALREADY arranged a DD there wouldn't be 23 people waiting to talk on the phone:rolleyes:

she could always go down to the town hall and speak to a person face to face who is sat at a computer and can access her records and fix the problem there and then and even pay cash to ensure no further action is taken
oh no she cant they dont have people there any more or allow payments to be made at teh town hall for when things like this happen typical HBC behaviour though,they cock up and make threats |
