Re: The Budget

Mick I think the general apathy to this event is because it is just too little too late.
If the Escalator tax on beer had been dropped when the party first came to power, then maybe there might be a few more pubs trading.

A lot of what is proposed is not going to come in for another year....and some of the things promised...like the boost in money for child-care, may not happen. It will depend on the re-election to power of this woeful government...it is a push me pull you animal....you'd think that the two coalition parties could drop their own agenda's for the good of the country....but no. It isn't the country that matters to them...it is their own hubristic political ambitions that drive them.
I'm off now to take the anti cynicism pills.

Re: The Budget

at the very least your looking at having to drink 200 pints before you get a free pint out of this government ...

wasnt too long ago they were moaning that we drink too much and then they bring out a buy 200 get one free deal on beer ?

Politicians might not be fully human - hence have no empathy.

They are ignoring the human suffering that their financial constraints cause.

I must admit that I take little interest in the Budget . But that bit about the beer caught my eye .

After what the politicians have been saying about beer prices has anyone any idea why beer has been reduced in price , however so little ?
