June auctions of Accy Buildings

Ok up this month are a couple of pubs:

http://www.pugh-auctions.com/Lot/Man...r/20130613/134.
If the lease keeps going this is a hell of a rental return. I don't think it will, because £500 seems excessive to me. If it doesn't then the buyer ends up stuck with a building like the second pub up for auction this week

Now the Hope and Anchor has been up for auction many times, no one wants it. I'm tempted, but it'll need a fortune spent on renovating it, and my folk are working full time in Warner St. for the next few months. Interesting to see what comes of Hope and Anchor, if anything.

I think if I had the money I'd turn Hope and Anchor in to flats. It's had it's day as a pub as countless tenants have found ut over the past few years.

I hope they would be 1 bedroom flats, the rarity value of such properties would make sure they're never empty.

That end of town is horrible, would you want to live in a flat there?
I still think that end of town should be wiped of the map

Useful perspective Neil, especially for an outsider like myself. Thanks.

Useful perspective or one man's opinion ? :)

That particular block is not as bad is nowhere near as some areas of town which should be nuked ;)

Follow Less's advice, turn it in to one bed flats and you'll make a killing :)

Yes, Dave, the drawback seems to be with such buildings conversions though is that the landlord always charges over the odds.
Five years ago I looked at a private 1 bed flat, it's rent, just short of £90 a week.
The two bed house the council moved me into £60 a week so by taking a 2 bed I saved £30 not for me, but for the council having to pay, because I was on benefits!

I guess thats what they call the supply and demand market unfortunatley. When the government build a couple of million one bedroom flats they might come down in price
