The EU can't be blamed for this one - it's the ECHR who've made this ruling. I'd still like to hear Graham Jones's opinion on this though.

Probably. We joined in the early 50's. However, it was Tony Blair's government who enshrined the ECHR in English law.

At the moment there are 59 people serving a full life tariff, in British jails, and that's were our courts thought was the best place for them, me thinks its time to pull out of the Human rights fiasco and stick two fingers up to them

I agree Jatsay. I think it is ridiculous that the likes of Jeremy Bamber is allowed to go to the European courts. He's been in prison for years so it must be us who have paid for his lawyers and for the others who applied with him. It is high time the victims were put before the scumbags who commit the crimes.

Re: Ha hahahahaha EU related

my friends uncle is a prison warden or was a prison warden and spent time keeping an eye on perter sutcliff the yorkshire ripper.

by all accounts if you were not aware of his crimes he comes accross as a decent person, polite and friendly. It is well documented what a monster he is and he will serve time in prison until the day he dies...

or will he because this new ruling could change that theoretically and then theres the prison isnt safe for him because he was stabbed in the eye argument do-gooders would add to strengthen a case for release

mind you its theses same clowns that allowe dan illigal immigrant to stay after killing a little girl in Darwen by leaving her to die after he ran her over becaus eapparently he has a right to see his children he had with a british citizen

so in short more protection for the criminal less justice for the victims

thankyou labour your just simply awsome and although my thoughts may seem ludricous past history with this human rights garbage has seen a lot more unbeliveable and far fetched happen.

But lets not dismay too soon im sure that posh wetboy cameron will put things right and tell them to go to hell..
