Vive la difference.

Well, pardon my French:eek: But I'd be very surprised if any of you don't know what it means. In la belle province, there is a move on to eliminate certain expressions of difference:

Quebec releases controversial ?values charter,? proposes that anyone giving, receiving public services would need face uncovered | National Post

Now, I'm aware that most of you are as fascinated by Quebec politics, and the position of Quebec in Canadian Confederation, as I am by benches in front of Accy Town Hall. But this does raise some interesting questions, especially when you consider that, unlike you guys, we are a nation of immigrants, and that we have tended to view ourselves as a "cultural mosaic" rather than a "melting pot". Canadians are not thick. Most of us are aware that, despite its mentioning of crosses and Stars of David, this is directed against ... well, you can figure that out for yourselves. Is this the way to go. And remember that Quebec wishes to preserve its heritage, cultural, linguistic, and historical ... as, no doubt, do many in the land of uk. This ain't a poll, by the way. Just something to mull over.

I have lived in Montreal for nearly 40 years, and what Pauline Marois and her PQ government are doing is utterly ridiculous. All they are doing is pitting the English against the French so that we will have to go to the Polls in December. Because her ultimate goal is to separate from the rest of Canada. As if that will ever happen.

Marois wants a referendum .... which, we all know, she will lose. Quebec is part of Canada. And Canada wouldn't be Canada without Quebec. Deep down, I believe that most Quebecois realize this, as do most Canadians who live outside Alberta.;)

By the way, when the first referendum was taking place, I remember wearing a t-shirt with the logo: "If Quebec seperates, make them take Toronto.":alright:
