In the past five years British Gas prices have risen 79%

There was a twitter storm Thursday to Bert Pijls BG's customer service director.
Lee Vincent asked "Which items of furniture do you in your humble opinion think people should burn first this winter?"
Got me thinking :D

Maybe they could be freeze-dried first ... that would cut down on the smoke.

In these days of gender equality, it wouldn't be out of place to burn senior executives of British Gas, along with those who give advice like "wear sweaters in the house.";)

There's always a greenie when you don't need one.

Look, we get rid of that lot and global warming won't be a problem, hot air escaping into the atmosphere, suddenly we meet our quota without destroying anymore British industry.

This is cut and paste but its good advice from another of Call me Dave's BILLIONAIRE friends:rolleyes::rolleyes::mad: Cut energy bills by putting on a jumper, suggests David Cameron's spokesman - Mirror Online

Its a pity the country as a whole cant just stand together on this and not pay the barstewards what would they do they couldnt take us all to court. Its definitely fundamentally wrong that our energy needs and supplies should be controlled by foreign companies who really dont give a stuff about our country, and the people who can do something about it are to out of touch with the real world to realize whats going on.

Excuse me? Although I don't like our utilities belonging to old Johnny Foreigner, they bought them legitimately, if we don't pay it's not them breaking the law, they supply we must pay for what we consume.

It's an absolute cock up all around. Our politicians past and present must feel proud of their involvement.

As much as I hate to add a bit of common sense to any raving thread regarding our energy firms, but........

Why don't we the Great British public send British Gas a message they cannot ignore, change suppliers?

We are with the rather smug Coop energy.

It would be fun seeing BG ( no relation, honest) losing most of their customers.:D

I'm with the smug Scottish Power and have it fixed for the even smugger 2 more years..that ain't the point though.

Switching won't make a blind bit of difference because all the others will hike the prices sooner or later because they operate like a cartel. Competition between energy companies is a myth and Ofgem is a joke.

The simple fact is that energy prices across the board have doubled in the last 7 years regardless of which company you are with. There is no accountability on how much is cost and how much is profit. Also, due to short sightedness by politicians of all colours this country is unable to store gas, which means we have to pay top dollar at peak usage. You can add to this the stupid green policies of this current government that is stifling investment and paying a fortune to inefficient wind and solar power companies....people will die unnecessarily this winter and all the government can say is that they are 'disappointed'!

This is not right in a developed country!

Yet another of the 'Big 6' put their prices up to eye watering levels.
Maybe it is time to switch to a smaller company?
