Re: Where's Jaysay
Rest in peace John, I only met him once when I called to see him when he was in hospital.
After his first suspicions of the stranger entering his room we had as much of a chat and a laugh as his condition would allow. |

Re: Where's Jaysay
Thanks Cashy, I'm glad he appreciated my visit enough to mention it. It breaks the monotony of a single room and a bit of banter can take away the seriousness of your situation for a fleeting moment.
He could also take the flack he was given and never lacked a reply. |
Re: Where's Jaysay

Re: Where's Jaysay
Coming late onto this thread.. such a shame. Only met John once when I took a bottle of strong ale round for him to sample. Taken by his humour and fortitude as his health was deteriorating.
RIP Big Man. |

Re: Where's Jaysay
This has made me so sad.
I never met John, but I just remember how I loved his funny posts, and how kind he was when I first joined-making a point of sending me a PM to make sure I was okay when I wasn't received well by some members. Some good conversations followed, and he never even mentioned any health problems to me, although I knew from other posts that life had dealt him more than a fair few. I guess as others have said he didn't let things rule his life nor stop him enjoying it. I always admire people like that (probably because I'm pretty pathetic when I'm unwell)! He was obviously well liked for many reasons and I wish the best possible for his loved ones at a difficult time. RIP Jaysay and I'll always remember you-seems funny to say that about somebody I only knew on the internet! But totally appropriate. |
Re: Where's Jaysay
Is St Mary's just off Catlow Hall St?
|
Re: Where's Jaysay
Yes, it is.

Re: Where's Jaysay
I can give a few people a lift to the Crematorium if they are stuck for transport and also a lift to the Railway afterwards. Please don't ask if you are outside the Hyndburn area.
It may save you the taxi fare if you intend having a few beers afterwards. |
Re: Where's Jaysay
Me and less could do with lifts to the railway please we will be getting a taxi up to the crem
|
Re: Where's Jaysay
I'd like to have come but it's a long drive and I can't be away from home too long.
But I'll be thinking of him. Raise a glass for me! |
Re: Where's Jaysay
OK Mick, two seats reserved for you.
