also bare in mind if you dont manage to slam on and someone is waiting to cross and a police officer sees you its 3 points on your licence and a fine for failing to stop at a zebra crossing.

mind you it could be close enough to blackburn road for it to fall under the " cant be arsed to do our jobs" criteria

Are you sure you have to stop if they are waiting? I thought the offence was not stopping if they were already on the crossing

Mentions it here http://www.motorlawyers.co.uk/offenc...n_crossing.php

Mentions it here Pedestrian Crossing Offences

i think you have to stop no matter what if they are in the road regardless of what they are stood on although it is tempting at times just to clip them with the mirrors and teach them a lesson in green cross code

a traffic cop once told me that you had to stop if they are waiting to cross but that was back in the days when a traffic cop not only knew what he was supposed to do but actually did their damn job as well.

this country is going the way of India where road markings are decorative items only and the potholes are making the roads as bad as over there as well.No point in having a hihway code its a flippin free for all with no enforcement of teh law these days

well apart from speeding and parking in selected areas
