Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
In 2020 there are some very significant changes that will be forced on Members.
Adopting the Euro as currency will be mandatory. There will be harmonisation of fiscal policies and closer political affiliation, an EU military force is proposed too. So, yes...by the next election I think it might just be too late. Read about some of the changes here. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...-the-euro.html |

The thing is....I object to people like our current representatives questioning my educational standards and my ability for rational thought and critical analysis. I have a brain which I use for fear of it rusting away....BUT...and it is a big but. You can only ever make informed choices if you are armed with unbiased information....and believe me, this is not easy to locate. Now we both know that some folk vote with their gut feeling....and some people seek out as much information as possible. I do both. When I see M. Barnier and JcJuncker rubbing their hands and smiling like the crocodiles they are...to me that stinks. It does not mean a good deal for us...it means we are hooked and landed and the cook is preparing the Hollandaise sauce to serve with our balls. This has been a fiasco from start to finish....and I think my Dom Perignon (vintage) will be staying corked up for the foreseeable future. They may have to pour it on my grave! |

Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
It is all a bit scary....we are just going to be a district in the United States of Europe.....and unless we leave at the end of March without delay....we are stuffed.
The Lisbon treaty is deliberately obtuse and difficult to make sense of. The political elite do not WANT us to be informed of these things....they want to sleep walk us into this morass of rules and regulations over which we will have zero power. |

Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
now there will be moves to delay Brexit.
Why? There is never ever going to be any kind of meaningful negotiation on the part of the EU....basically because they do not want to lose the revenue we provide. |

Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
Is it just me, but there was only one deal that the EU accepted which was TM's deal, which has now been rejected twice....????
Next vote is on no deal brexit, surely by voting against the deal it leaves only no deal. because there is only one deal on offer from the UK that the EU has accepted? Or is that far too simple. After that is a delay vote..... Which still doesn't get around the fact that the EU has accepted the deal the UK proposed, which can't be changed..... |

Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
There is word going around some of the media that Viktor Orban, Hyngarian PM will veto any extension agreement - he wants to prove that there is a way out of the EU.
|
Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
Nigel Farage has also been going around trying to get one country to veto any extension..... and still the Brexit drama drags on....
Apparently the no deal Brexit isn't law, rather an indication of how parliament feels about it, but they voted for taking a no deal of the table, the PM said (rather croakily) that the default, if a deal can't be ratified, is that we will leave on the 29th with no deal in place. There's a vote tomorrow to see if article 50 should be extended... to be honest I can't see the point, we're no closer than we where last dec or when the first vote on the deal took place. |
Re: Referendum is a load of crap.!!
I am hoping that Nigel Farage can persuade either Hungary, Poland Or Italy, to VETO the extension to leave.

A delay will also cost us £1 billion pounds per month....so that is a good reason not to delay our departure.
There is NO point....if we cannot sort things out in more than two years....then why would two months make a difference? The answer is...it wouldn't...the whole negotiation(what a laughable term when dealing with the EU) situation has been nothing more than a convoluted exercise designed to let us think our opinions mattered and that our votes were being taken seriously. What a great big scam. |
