Canalside developments

Yay!..vote labour..they know what they are doing…

Redevelopment sites for Rishton Canalside project revealed - Accrington Observer

Absolutely fantastic news……more houses….obviously Ken’s route from the con to ‘rishton towers’ doesn’t encompass all the rental/for sale signs dotted everywhere..

I see no mention of infrastructure being built alongside this development..oh wait…

There was this from Councillor Cleary earlier this year…we don’t want social housing we want retail and leisure

Ambitious multi-million pound plans to transform canalside will be shown to public (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Even further back…

We are gonna build schools, pubs, craft, shops, cafes and fun stuff….

The Labour vision….checkout a couple of fields, have a public meeting or two, ignore anything that’s said and let cheapskate property developers offering zero infrastructure, build box houses, flog ‘em and run….

Me….I used to stroll on the canal, come across dilapidated swing bridges, bridges to nowhere, half buildings etc..etc.. and many of the ones I showed my children are gone….forever…replaced by ugly canalside box houses or industrial estates, built on fields and streams from my youth….( does anyone know where in Hyndburn to take the grandkids with a jam jar and net to catch tadpoles?)

The ‘eyesores’ of today are the history of tomorrow….then again this Labour council have a history of screwing up…….

Apparently they are still on course!
