This and other adverts about work place pensions has me confused (yes, I know not difficult),

It claims that bosses and workers alike are ignoring the workplace pension then goes on to emphasise that it shouldn't be ignored as it's the law.

Speed limits are the law and they are enforced by the authorities, allowing your dog to crap anywhere and not cleaning up after it is against the law and occasionally enforced by the authorities, ignoring the work place pension is against the law and yet, the only thing the authorities do is show a stupid advert, is this because it's cheaper than actually doing something about it?

It aint enforced cos people who matter n are much better than us,control them, simple as, can't have mega rich being prosecuted.:rolleyes:

It's not the law yet, it's being phased in starting with the big employers, smaller businesses have to offer one by April 2017.

If it's not the law yet, why doesn't the advert make that clear?

False advertising i.e. stating it is the law when it isn't yet the law, isn't supposed to be allowed.

So I'm still confused.

Not only that, but if it isn't the law yet, perhaps that's the reason employers and employees are ignoring it as stated in the ad'?

Don`t know all the ins and outs of it, maybe it`s law now for those bigger employers, but the advert isn`t saying what you are saying it is, it`s saying that it is the law that he eventually have to offer one, so don`t ignore it.
"As an employer he should look at the workplace pention, he`ll need to offer one, it`s the law."

Well whichever of us is correct about this ad', (and yes, I think it could well be you), it is full of ambiguity, why a big furry lump instead of clear facts? Unless of course they are going down the road of insurance companies and wildlife charities?

Maybe their next set of adverts will be, 'sign up to the workplace pension and get a cuddly toy!'

If it is I'm gonna sue for infringement of my human rights/equal rights, whatever?? - I never got a cuddly toy when I signed up for mine :rolleyes::)

TBH I'm kinda glad its not being enforced yet.
At over 50 I'd have to put so much into a pension I'd have nowt left.

When it comes around I shall consider the opt out option.
