Rising Bridge roundabout

A motorcyclist lost his leg last night and there were 2 accidents the night before. My wife was nearly side-swiped on Friday afternoon by a car not stopping when coming down from Burnley. There are cars suddenly pulling up mid roundabout due to stop lines for traffic lights.
The area is extremely dangerous on approach because it has not been lined out at the edge of the roundabout, cars are either overshooting into the roundabout or just not stopping thinking they have the right of way and driving into traffic.
Be careful.

Thanks for the advice Stevie. Glad your wife was not hurt. Sounds like something needs doing about it and fast.

Sorry to hear about the poor lad. At least you have done all you can to try and prevent anyone else being hurt.

It needs more care and consideration from all drivers until the lights are working.A roundabout is not a race track

Re: Rising Bridge roundabout

The comment by the Police in the newspaper and other at the scene after the accident suggests no other vehicles were involved. We probably won't find out what happened because the newspapers probably won't do a follow up story if only the bike was involved

What a shame our MP has deserted us on Accrington Web when he used to post so often in the past. Maybe he can only spare us enough time to type 140 characters now he is our MP

It's our own fault, we could have sucked up to him and indeed to the councillors that used to post regularly on here but no, we kept asking him and them down to earth questions that he/they were never brave enough to answer honestly.

:(

If only we had the lack of intelligence to understand 5% of what they used to post, then perhaps they would use AccyWeb as their sounding board 95% of the time.
:p

Looking at his twitter he appears to be more interesting in things happening in other countries than Hyndburn

From a politico, that doesn't surprise me in the least!

Yes, Neil....true, how does that benefit his constituents?
You know, those folk who were confident in his ability to represent them and their concerns.
How betrayed we feel. I am one of those who put my cross in his box. I felt that he knew the town, he knew the needs of the town...and this is how he repays us for our votes.
Never again!

I wish his box had two of life's essentials in it, then maybe he'd be able to represent us instead of just the Labour party.

And copy and paste them somewhere else.

I think people forget when they are typing away after a drinks that they could be held accountable for things they say. Wine Wednesday and weekend evenings produced many of the silly comments

Sadly Neil that's the way of the world nowadays, well for some folk at least, mainly the great unwashed, " I know my rights!" & the Kyle candidate crowd.

No doubt he thinks that all AW members are in the 95% who know nothing at all and can't be bothered to educate us all.

Margaret Pilkington 09-03-2017 06:33

Re: Rising Bridge roundabout

Well, I for one,do not need our representative to educate me.
I am more than capable of researching the things I need/want to know.
And would I trust what a politician was telling me? I don't think I would...well not without checking the 'facts' for myself first.
I would be asking myself why he was telling me whatever it was, and what was in it for him...because I feel pretty sure there would have to be some kind of incentive for him.

Or perhaps her?

Lets not be sexist about the thieves/fibbers and downright perverted crooks that wander through both houses of power.

The one I was thinking of is male(the one who thinks 95% of us haven't got the brains to find our bum cheeks with both hands)...but yes, the thieves and fibbers are of both genders.
