Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary Taddy and Hazel
 

Today it is 50 years since Taddy and Hazel tied the knot.
I am sure that all his friends on Accyweb would like the opportunity of congratulating both him and Hazel. 50 years is no mean feat

I am just posting to say Hope your Golden day has been everything you hoped it would be and wish you much love and happiness for the coming years...may there be many of them.
With a bit of luck you will have toasted the day with one or two Hobgoblins.

Congratulations Taddy & Hazel on your Golden Wedding. May you have many more happy years. When my parents reached theirs my dad said. ' The Train Robbers only geet 30yrs and they got some off for good behaviour.'

Not me. I was a late starter so will reach 43yrs in August, God willing. I do have a letter my parents got from the late Queen Mother when they celebrated their Golden Wedding and the card from The Queen for their Diamond Wedding.

Yes my wife and I will celebrate ?? 50 years of marriage on 7th July, we met each other after migrating to Oz, Jean is from Wales I was born in Blackpool, but I :tongueout still consider that either Church or Accrington is my Town and always will be

Thank you Marge and all the other Accy webbers for your congratulations.

We met 54 years ago when Hazel was 14 years old and I was 16, when Hazel was 17 we got engaged and I bought her an engagement ring, we married when she was 18; I cannot remember actually asking her to marry me, I think it was more on the lines of "how do fancy getting married), or some other romantic comment.

Seeing as I did not get down on one knee to propose I thought that with the lass looking after me for all this time she deserved a little something extra so last night at the Grants Arms in Accy in front of nearly one hundred guests, I did get down on one knee and presented Hazel with an eternity ring to the (Oh how remantic sighs, from the ladies)

Because I have two artificial knee joints I had to ask Hazel to help me up, much to the amusement of the guests who I think thought my comment was part of an act.

I like it Taddy...the story behind your wedding is the icing on the cake and the getting down on your knees is the cherry on the cake.

Nothing wrong with being helped to your feet...I am sure during your many years together she has lifted you both physically and mentally.

But it has to be true or you would not have lasted so long together.

I am sure when you were getting hitched folk told you that you were too young...but you showed 'em.
There is no point at all in waiting when you have found your soulmate.
