Good pub grub
 

If anyone is thinking of going out for a meal I can highly recommend The Swan with Two Necks in Pendleton. Been with family today for my birthday meal and the food was great, service first class. Well worth a visit.

This is a place we used to go to many years ago. My other half loved their plate meat pie and chips. He said it was almost as good as mine :D.
Not posh, but honest, stick to your ribs stuff. I don't know if it is still the same today.

Thank you for your good wishes Margaret. The food is still the same, wholesome and good. My daughter had chicken,leek and ham pie, son had steak and kidney, hubby gammon and my grandson and I had off the smaller portion menu, he had chicken nuggets, which are home made and I had lasagne and was glad I did not order from the main menu as it was more than enough for me. It is a friendly cosy pub and I love it. My grandmother was born across the road on a farm and there is a photo on the wall of several children outside that farm and with the date of it I am sure it must be her and some of her siblings. Another reason to be a favourite place.

Will do that Rowlf, it sounds the kind of food he would relish.
He likes homely food.
We used to go every Saturday night at one time.
When we had visitors from Melbourne they absolutely loved it there...the food and the surroundings too.

Coincidence. Five minutes before reading this thread, I booked a table for this coming Sunday. We are meeting up with No 2 daughter who lives in Halifax, so it's about half way. The last time I was there - January?_ I had the best suet pudding I've ever had - lamb & leak. Also great beer on tap. It was national pub of the year in 2014 and was a finalist 2016. The landlord has been there for over 20yrs.

I am sure you will find it is every bit as good as the last time you were there Bob. I hope you all enjoy it as much as my family and I have today.

Happy belated birthday from South Australia, Rowlf. Sounds like it was a good one. The menu's great but a bit too far for me to go for a feed....

...and, Bob, hope your Sunday meal there is as good as you remember it - enjoy the day with your daughter.

Thank you Dotti I had a lovely day. Just glad I am still able to enjoy life at my age .Ha ha
when you get past the 'Biblical Sell by Date' you have to be thankful your still here.
