This mornings incident in London!
Have been watching the news all morning and the media seem to me to be deliberately skirting the issue!! They are talking about funding the police properly, etc etc, Nothing will ever make us completely safe thats obvious, but the sensible thing to me, is to REMOVE from the country "ALL" the people on their list, of which theres over 3000, and there families from the U'K. if they are already citizens then remove citizenship from them. it wont make uscompletely safe, but "WILL" make people a damn site safer!! thats my view and as far as i'm concerned the best way to improve safety,

Re: This mornings incident in London!
It seems NO Ministers or the P.M. are at the cobra meeting now, not serious enough to recall them from hols, that speaks volumes to me about the state of things in the U.K.:(

Re: This mornings incident in London!
I can't give a definitive answer on this.
This might seem appealing but it would be considered a 'knee jerk' reaction. Both you and I know that the left leaning, loony luvvies would fight something like this tooth and nail. We know that the current leader of the labour party(despite his foggy memory of events) supports terrorists....even though he says that terrorism has no place in modern society....dialogue being his weapon of choice(jaw jaw never solved anything). A gut reaction would be to remove all those that the police have on their radar....but that would be like lopping a head off a hydra....ten more would appear. If the terrorists are British born where would they be sent to? If we say that they would be sent to the country of their family heritage....what if that country refused to accept them...and knowing that they had radical leanings that might happen. I think that removing these people would be fraught with difficulties and would be a step on the slippery slope to a police state.....where the police could do as they please if they thought it would rid them of a problem. Initially I thought that rounding these up and interning them on some remote island would be the answer, but it wouldn't really because in these days of technology they can send their poison anywhere they want.(unless it was an island with no electricity) And wouldn't this be like a kind of Guantanamo Bay situation....and we know that this received a poor reception the world over....seen as uncivilised. Maybe confiscation of all the terrorists (and their family assets too)assets might work....but I feel that they would find ways around this. Cashy, you have asked a question that the wisest person cannot answer. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
I know that Margaret but to be honest i do not give a fig what happens to sympathizers of terrorists, i would prefer the lot to be shipped out before more are massacred which i am damn sure will happen again.
|
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Yes, Cashy...I think you are right.
But can you honestly see any political party aligning themselves to such an action? It would require an act of Parliament to do what you are suggesting. It is only a very short step to a police state. The terrorists know this....that there is no acceptable solution so of course they keep on killing. The gang situation is similar...and this is not being effectively addressed. Young men feel like the need to fight for something....gang members fight for drug turf....terrorists fight what they consider to be a religious war. Maybe what should happen is to round them all up...drop them in some inhospitable desert/unfriendly terrain, give them bombs and weapons and let them wipe one another out. The Manchester bomber was rescued and given sanctuary in our country...I am sure he was helped in every way possible. Yet he hated the western culture so much he felt it was his duty to murder and maim young girls enjoying a night out at a music concert. There is no knowing what goes on in the mosques(or outside the mosques) where the seeds of hatred are sown. There is no knowing the thoughts of these unhappy, twisted young men. Cashy, I have no answer to your question...and I doubt anyone else has either. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Unless you made an act of terrorism the Death Penalty. let em be Martyrs or whatever these monsters wish to call themselves.

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Removing the creatures from the UK won't bring about significant change, removing them from the face of the world on the other hand ....

Re: This mornings incident in London!
The perpetrator of this crime is Sudanese.
A migrant who CHOSE to come here. Took on British citizenship, them mows down the innocent people of the country he adopted. It will take more than just shipping them out Cashy. It will take the government to devise a properly formulated and policed border policy. An immigration policy which is robust and looks into the past of every immigrant wishing to be allowed residence. This must be backed up by legislation that permits removal of the citizenship (and any assets accrued whilst resident here)if it is proved that the terms of it have been breached. Maybe making the UK a less attractive place to aim for....removing access to benefits, housing, making the incomers have health insurance too. Not allowing access to the NHS services until they have contributed for a minimum of two years. Making it possible to move here ONLY if you have a job and a sponsor who will be responsible for the immigrants behaviour. It should also be a given that immigrants should speak English. These criteria would need to be rigorously upheld for them to have any impact at all. Even if this were done, it would not deal with those terrorists who were born here. My gut reaction is that the only safe terrorist is a dead terrorist. I do not believe that a radicalised person can be de-radicalised...they may tell you that their ideals and values have changed, but NO....it is not proven. As I said originally Cashy....this question tests the wisdom of Job. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Well aware it will take more than shipping em out, but to me radical is the only way to tackle people like these pieces of crap. one way or another they must be got shut of.

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Thank you for your vote of confidence Russell....but I have not got the book learning to do it and it really is not down to the PM of the country....the PM of the country is led by the nose by unelected senior civil servants.
It is they who formulate policy and then they allow the PM of the day to be the mouthpiece. I could not be part of such a system...my mouth runs far better than my legs. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Thing is with stopping benefits all well and good, but what about those already here and getting them?if it was a possibility it would take forever to formulate, Get shut or top em sort the rest after.
|
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Cashy, this should already be in place.
As for those already here....well, if it were in my power I would create a task force that would investigate every single one of them....and if they were not meant to be here then they would be on a plane out. There is absolutely no political appetite to do this because some loony leftie would stand up and shout 'Nazi Tactics'. We are having these problems because successive governments have neglected border security. They have not taken the responsibility of knowing WHO is in this country seriously. It would take legislation to remove the people who are under surveillance right now. Many of those MAY be British born...so removing those would be doubly difficult. The idea of removing these terrorists does not diminish the risk very much.Technology means they can provoke an attack from anywhere in the world. Remember what Enoch Powell said? He was right....and we are too late to do anything that would really alter things for the better. What these terrorists want is to take over the country. Not just our country, but the countries of Europe too. They want their 7th century ideologies to be implemented over the globe. You and I are old enough to shrug this off. It will not be in our lifetime...but it IS coming. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
I know successive Governments have been totally useless in being afraid to tackle what in most peoples minds is a genuine major problem, i have NO faith in any of em to do something, The Tories are Gutless, Labour well people stopped voting labour, so Blair invited them, to replace the voters they had lost. so basically we are knackered, but i will never keep my gob shut over it.;)

Re: This mornings incident in London!
We should not keep quiet about our worries.
We should feel free to speak about them. Every time a politician turns up on our doorstep canvassing for votes, the subject should be brought up and he/she asked what THEY plan to do about it. Pester them...let them know that you consider they are not doing a good job. When we talk about these issues, those who have different views are inclined to brand us as racists. That is their way of closing down any meaningful discussion and it is calculated to make us shut up. I am pleased that this will not work on you(or me either). Like you, I say it as I see it. If that is a problem then it is yours not mine(I mean 'yours' in a collective sense....this is not aimed at you Cashy) |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Oh i have even sent a tweet to Our P.M. saying exactly what i said on here, a couple of days ago, after she put one on, but guess what? she aint replied to it.:D

Re: This mornings incident in London!
I have just been reading a speech by a new Australian Senator, he says "Whilst all Muslims are NOT terrorists, certainly all terrorists these days are Muslim, so why allow more in the country? i personally think thats a very good question, and certainly a valid one.!!

Thats what he always asks the other press, can they explain to him what he has done, how they can call him far right and accuse him of all these things when all he does is speak the truth about what is happening in the UK. :) |

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Anarchy is what is happening in the U.K.
Gangs rule areas and nothing is done about it. Teens fight each other with 16inch hunting knives....they maim, disembowel, and kill...with no thought of the consequences, either for themselves or for the victims. They score points, like life is some kind of video game. Right now there are four young men (kids really....one lad was crying for his mum when he was being treated by paramedics)lying in hospital beds, hoping that the skills of medical teams can put them back together. Their lives are very likely to be ruined...and some of them may not survive. WHY? What is to be done about the violent behaviour of young people. Where does it come from? I have my own thoughts on this, but will keep them to myself because I know that they would be shot down. It seems that life is cheap. Disposable even. This is not a video game....when you die or are maimed in real life....you are DEAD....or stay maimed. How very sad. |

I have my own thoughts on this, but will keep them to myself because I know that they would be shot down. think we might have gone full circle now margaret. think we are back to the lazy parents again and lack of discipline in schools to excuses made by the touchy fealey brigade. add it all up and its a recipe for disaster. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
I think that may be some of the reason, but I think much of the reason behind this behaviour is that young men need to be challenged....subjected to some kind of danger.
Previously the services might have provided this, but the armed services have shrunk....and they do not want poorly disciplined young men. I also think that violent video games DO affect young people. They may not affect ALL young people, but I am firmly of the belief that some WILL be adversely affected They make them immune to empathetic feelings. The young lads who spend many hours in combat on these games are not experiencing social interaction in the real world so they lack the finer feelings that might prevent them from hurting someone....and when they do hurt someone, they feel nothing, no sense of remorse, no guilt, no shame...they feel exhilarated. I am sure there will be those out there who will tell me this is rubbish. We watched cowboys shoot Indians and it did not make us violent....the difference is....we were not doing the shooting. And then they will cite the games we played as children, those where we fired pop guns at our foes....that was different too....there was no gore, no graphic images of violence. That is my opinion....I am not asking anyone else to subscribe to it |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
The politicoes destruction of the family unit! all kids need both parents in their lives to guide them & show them balance, especially young lads. Mothers bring out commitment, caring & nurturing, where the fathers job is discipline, ethics & endeavour. There's much more both can add, but because consecutive governments have been in general destructive of family cohesion that to my mind is a big chunk of the problem.

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Discipline, strong parenting and the instillation of respect from an early age is what is currently sadly lacking in society.
Parents are the foundation and the cornerstone of well rounded future generations. We have far to many one parent families....and many are this from choice. This is not to denigrate the Sterling job done by lone parents who are in that role through no fault of their own. When you become a parent it is the hardest job in the world....and the responsibility for your children NEVER ends....they are your child whether they are five or fifty five. |

I think you have made a good choice Monkey hanger.
Make every opportunity to spend time together. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
Theresa May cut Police budget and numbers when she was home secretary and cut everything and now all the increased violence because of Tory Cuts! It's just goes round and round! This incident could have been an accident!? Even if it was I doubt the cops would back down with out taking it to court. On the news they didn't even say if the driver had pleaded guilty or not guilty?

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Which government was it who encouraged all these 'enrichers' to come here.....?
It was a government that was keen to embrace mulitculturalism. Wasn't it that odious man who said he 'didn't come into politics to change the Labour Party, but to change the country'....well, he certainly did that alright....and not for the better. |

My feelings about him are a hundred times stronger than Cashy's are about Margaret Thatcher....and that is saying something. I hope I am fortunate enough to see Karma deal him just what he deserves. |
Re: This mornings incident in London!
know a couple of labour activists who gave hours of their spare time to the party who both turned their backs on the party they supported for years due to him. one actually said that if it was the chice of a vote for thatcher or blair then they,d pick the former.

Re: This mornings incident in London!
Bliar's immigration policy had one aim - allow lots of people in who would then vote for Labour in gratitude to the man who got them out of the Sh**holes they originate from.

This man single handedly did more harm to the fabric of this country than all the bombs dropped by the Germans. He is a treasonous snake and a war criminal.....I don't know how he sleeps at night....except I do. None of it was his fault. His dearest wish was to go down in history.....he definitely will do that....for all the wrong reasons. |
