Re: ***Michael Gordon Blackledge***
I think it was Mick that I met once at his house in Persia St, where I lived until 1960. He had a great attitude towards the running of the forumand one of the reassons why Accyweb is still going strong when other towns' sites have failed. I wonder if he was related to a policeman called Gordon Blackledge who I worked with in Accrington in the years around 1960. He was one of the first to work on the newly-built M6

Re: ***Michael Gordon Blackledge***
It's a long time since I've posted on here but I do still read the threads every now and then. I remember being a newbie on here and attending the first Accyweb meet up, meeting Mick and Anne for the first time. I was amazed at how clever he was on computers and me being a techno newbie, and knowing nothing about computers, digital cameras etc. Mick was always there to help.
He was always happy to stop for a chat and a catch up when we saw him in town and will be missed by everyone who knew him. On behalf of myself and Sparkologist we send condolences to Anne and all of Mick's family, friends and Accyweb who have lost a fantastic moderator, member and friend. RIP Mick x |
Re: ***Michael Gordon Blackledge***
Thankyou for all the kind words of my dad
His funeral is tomorrow Tuesday 9am at Accrington crematorium followed to one of his favourite pubs the railway in town for a drink. A great Farther, Brother, Husband and Grandad. |
Re: ***Michael Gordon Blackledge***
Just got back from Mick's funeral.
It was good to see so many Accyweb members turned out to pay their respects. Goodnight Mick. Rest easy. |
Re: ***Michael Gordon Blackledge***
Jen, it was lovely to see you there....in spite of your recent tussle with the ground.
Hope your bruises soon settle. Bernie as well, good to see you there. It seems that as we all get older we only meet up for these sad occasions. |
