Blackburn Road Pavement

Just walked along Blackburn Road tonight and all the works from laying the gas mains or whatever have gone.....but the mess that has been left behind by filling the holes has to be seen to be believed. If the people who have done this are professional contractors then they should be sued. Great lumps of tarmac dropped from a great height and left to set as undulating as the Pennine Way, even where the paving is constructed from red brick. It`s just waiting for an insurance claim. I know the council are cowboys but do they have to employ door to door tarmaccers in the Project Pheonix corridor... or do they just not give a toss!!

Aah, The council are learning at last! What normally happens is that contracters would dig a trench, lay the pipe (I believe gas in this instance) and spend thousands more making it nice and tidy only for the water pipe or cable contracters to come along the following week and dig it up again!

By not completing the job, they are saving money and making it easier for the next lot of contractors to dig up the road again:D

Eventually, it will dawn on the council to permanently leave the trench open so that pipes can be laid without disrupting traffic any more than normal:p
