8 billion sounds a lot that most of us cannot get our heads around. we talk in hundreds or if buying a house thousands. it is money wasted but pails into insignificance when over 100 billion is spent already on HS2 when the initial cost was 56 billion. that means 50 billion extra spent on something that many either do not want or have no interest in. actually what could you get for 8 billion that would changed the lives of a generation.

The Nightingale Hubs that were built on the prognostications of the SAGE modellers…..who predicted that the hospitals would be inundated with Covid cases…..and cost 10.6 billion pounds of taxpayers cash have so far treated SEVEN patients.
That is something in the order of 1.5 billion per patient…..good value?

Lets give it a different twist, lets pretend that the fact they had these hospitals prepared and ready, Why didn't they need them?

Obviously because they handled the pandemic so well that they became redundant before the plastic wrappings could be taken off.

They did not need them because the predictions were flawed….and Omicron was far less of a problem than Delta
What I wonder…..and I have not seen any reports regarding this.
Had those prognostications come to pass….just where would they have got staff to run these Nightingale hubs.

I know that governments need to ensure that all bases are covered, but truly none of the predictions from SAGE have come true.

Oh and as for a change in career Less……don’t hold your breath.

many countries and even many people in this country do not realize that omicron is far less of the threat to peoples lives and health in general as delta and other varients were. they have a total obsession of case numbers rising and ignore everything else. just cannot ever see us getting back again to the old normal in any ways. any illness now will be blasted over the MSM to frighten without being put into context. afraid fear is the key.
