Accyweb has been infiltrated
 

Today I received a PM via Accyweb which appears to have come from China. Part of it was in English, part in Chinese script.

I have not read on here of this happening to anyone before. I intend to simply wipe it off.

Sorry about the spam PM, I also received it and removed the spammer. I can't remove any PM's the spammer might have sent so I suspect a lot of people will have had the message.

Dotti34 in Oz had one as well...she asked me what to do with it.....delete was my response.
She said it looked like it was from Mick(alas no longer here)

Yes, I got one - which I deleted. We do have to be very careful these days and one virus out of China is enough. I wasn't sure if I could delete it without opening it first (which of course I had no intention of doing) but thanks to Margaret I found that I could as Accyweb is set up to make this easy to do. What I couldn't understand (apart from the Chinese script of course) was that the email address from Accyweb included 'mick' which I thought was strange after all this time of Mick sadly not being with us. If I had received another one I was going to contact you, Neil, but thanks to the above I know that you now have everything under control.

Thanks, Neil, for explaining about that. I can understand it not having been changed - it was just that I wondered if it WAS still this or had our Chinese 'friend' somehow or other been using an old address. Thought it worth mentioning but it's all clear now. Ta.

It seems rather simple to all you devotees of Bill Gates's infernal machine, (Oh, just delete it) but what about luddites like myself who have searched for but cannot find a delete button anywhere.

at the bottom of yer P.M taddy theres a button "Delete this Message" hope that helps.;)

Go to your Personal Message list.
In the box where the Chinese message is.....at the lower right hand side you will see a little square box.....click on that.
Now scroll down to the bottom of the page.....in the right hand side you will find a drop down box.(it has options to do different things with your PM's) select delete from that list.....and the offending PM is destined for the trash.

Hope this helps Taddy....and there you go, you have learned a little bit more to add to your skills.

come on, Taddy...Milton Suthers used to scare the bejasus out of me and maths was my poorest subject...I could not even help myself.

But then life happens and you learn what you really need to know...and algorithms didn't cut it for me.

Before clicking the "like" button, with me only being of average intelligence, I had to consult my Oxford Senior, Dictionary, Senior being the operative word in my case,to find what "Simian" meant.
As I have said before on Accy Web, You must get a better education in the military.;);)

Cashy, it is an alternative way to say 'monkey' or ape.....a bit like bovine being a posh way to say cow......as in 'isn't she a clever little bovine?'.

The name simian categorises all the species in the ape/monkey group.
Most animals have a group name....cats are feline, dogs are canine, cows/cattle are bovine, bears are ursine, wolves are lupine, snakes are serpentine, foxes are vulpine, pigs are porcine, fish are piscine.....and there my knowledge runs out.
These are just the collective name for animals from the same group.

you actually start learning more once you leave school. well more things of use anyway. all i learned at school was how to pass examinations and made to feel like a sheep does in a field.

It was only when I left that I,learned what I needed to enrich my life.
