New internet provider.
Today we received a new B.T. box and hub after cancelling our Sky subscription (much to expensive);
The advice from B.T. "that it would only be a case of connecting a few cables between the Television and the new hub" sounded good to a Luddite like me. I started at 10-30 and finally had the computer and T.V. up and running at around 15-00 hours, Ha Ha, It's good to be a Luddite. |
Re: New internet provider.

Re: New internet provider.
son...I have yet to meet a man...who when faced with something entirely new to him...says 'Please pass me the instructions'.
They fuss, they fume, they swear but only when they have wasted a few hours and got to the end of their patience, do they say...'let's look at the instructions'. |

Anyway at least you cracked it.... eventually What instructions ? (an A5 sheet of paper with 6 diagrams on it), with the words 1= Smart Hub, 2=Power Cable and Plug, 3=Broadband Cable,4=Filter,5= Ethernet Cable and the sixth and final one;=Wireless Settings Sticker. Some Instruction Manual. |

True. I've seen plenty of dreadful, badly written & nonsensical Instructions. When there is any! Particularly where English is obviously not a first language & the Writer is evidently unfamiliar with the product. That's from supposedly British Manufacturers. They'll eventually all be deservedly gone. |

From what I can remember when I received my new hub, it was just a case of plug in and away you go...well once you have put the password in(found on the router on a handy removable little plaque. Failing that get some friendly neighbourhood school child to show you how it is done...they know just about everything about technology..or so it seems. |
