Getting your life back.

While restrictions due to the virus were at their worst there must have been a lot of things you missed being able to do – but what were the main ones? What do you look forward the most to doing again as and when you are allowed to, are you already doing it? It will be interesting to know how people have felt and how they have coped.

Just getting to see the grandkids again. We went for a couple of walks with them during the school holidays although when we tried it at Christmas we ended up sitting eating our picnic in separate cars and texting each other because the weather was so bad. It'll be nice to be able to go into each others houses again and have a cup of tea and not be so dependent on the weather.

until i can go anywhere inside without a face muzzle i,ll never be happy. could cope with missing out on things before that became compulsory. never been one to just go with the flow on any issue. especially issues that have never been proved by those who should know more than i do on a subject.

missed it more at the start than i do at the moment. nothing to do with the form but more about getting out of the habit of watching. never thought i,d ever not miss watching live football but thats where i am. will only go back if there are no restriction to enter the wham or any other place.

Like Jen....I have missed getting my haircut.
I am not one for beauty treatments or nails etc....and I don’t enjoy having my hair done.
I have not had my haircut for 18 months....I have not had long hair for three decades.

I have also missed jumping on a bus and going to Southport....walking to the end of the pier.
I miss seeing the faces of people smiling, I miss not being able to give people that matter, a hug.

I miss not having been able to celebrate the life of my mother with family altogether at a meal...sharing memories, reminiscing.
All of these I have missed....and some of them will not be reinstated for a while yet.
And come a rise in ‘cases’ it will be very easy to put us all back under house arrest....because whatever else has been shown...it is that the public are...in the main compliant.

can beat that. february 2020 was my last visit. i,m not one of those blokes who do not need to go as i,m well endowed hair wise. where i go its a queue up job so i never bothered when they were open last year but i,ll have to bite the bullet sooner than later. not risking going anywhere new as i do not fancy being scalped has happened in the past.

once i go back it will be fine. its just the general lack of interest in anything at the moment with me. going back up to the north east in may which i normally look forward to. not bothered about that either if something stops me even if i do miss walking on the beach from seaton carew to the blue lagoon in the evenings and having my half lot from youngs when i get back.

When I have been on my allotment I have had more than one person on their daily walks up to the coppice mistaking me with my (now), long silver hair and beard for Santa Clause; my comment is always "joking apart, how do you know that I am not Santa"?

I'll be glad when I can just jump in the car and go places without needing to pre-book in advance

yes, doing things you have throught your life just taken for granted. there should be an official bank holiday when the plastic shields are taken down, welding visors and face muzzles confined to the rubbish bin and all the talk about this garbage being non recycleable to become the main headline.

The sack only appears on Christmas Eve, unless you come from Scouseland where the goods may be available sooner and at knockdown prices,:rolleyes:

Re: Getting your life back.

It'll be good visiting places that have been shut for no good, provable reason.

Mind you, I've easily dealt with this by buying everything I want & need Online.

On the whole, my life is virtually unaffected. I've never been a "Pub Person", so that's never been a worry. Hanging around Pubs listening to Whingeing Customers complain about Prices & their Low Wages has never been for me. They never listen to suggestions how to improve their situation. It's almost like they're proud of being Thick & Poor, and refuse to learn better ways.

My biggest worry is if my Communication links to my different Analysts in various U.S. Cities goes down in Flames. B.T. have already given me a pathetic refund of sixteen quid & change for FAILING to call to sort out my perpetual Broadband issues (I have no idea how they arrived at my random refund amount). Anyway, come October when my current Contract ends, I'll be gone.

For some reason (probably hidden somewhere in the Telecommunication Act 1984), Blatant Thieves (B.T.), are somehow "entitled" to receive all their "Fees" to the end of their Contract. Unbelievable! When I called to cancel, they wanted over a Hundred Quid! For what??? When I ran Businesses, I could never demand Money from Clients/Customers like this.

I look forward to starting a reliable, much faster Fibre Service.
