hello, can anyone let me know if Kate (Katex) is still an active member.. I have tried to post messages to her but they not going anywhere..I am hoping she is ok...

Oh dear, I am so very sorry to hear that news... so sad,,, we exchanged a few private messages about the old days, we knew the same people, and we enjoyed our chat... my condolences to all her family and friends. xxx

I am very sorry to hear this. I am sure most of us feel we know each other on this forum even if we have never met in person, so it is very sad news indeed when we hear that one of the members has passed away.

Once over when an Accywebber passed away their avatar would be changed to be a respectful and fitting memorial to them. I wonder why this does not happen anymore. It was a very touching tribute

It used to be done by Mick, unfortunately, he can no longer do it because he went to join the other members that left the site permanently.

Firstly, altering someone’s profile couldn’t be done by a mod for security it had to be a trusted Administrator (would you want your personal files on site entrusted to anyone less?).
Secondly, I don’t know if you’ve noticed we seem to have run out of mods (voluntary adjudicators that have been ground down by the passage of time etc).
Thirdly the mods/administrators were always chosen from active, unbiased and tolerant members of the site, not a term I would use to describe any of us these days.

So, I think the answer might just be no.

Yes I have to say I had noticed a lack of mods…and No I did not know it had to be an administrator…though that does make sense.
It is sad that it is not clear when people have left the planet….especially for those who live overseas.
But I don’t suppose it can be remedied if you think there is no one who fits the criteria for the role…and that also,is a sad indictment.

It is what I think, but that is after all only my opinion, who knows, if he decides someone is worthy of the responsibility Roy may contact them.
