The ministerial code says that mp s should be truthful at all times in the house and should correct untrue information as soon as possible. The PM unfortunately is the one who decides how it should be dealt with when this happens.

if you think any party tells the truth in the house you are dafter than i thought. a few do the rest do not. especially Starmer and i was a member for over 20 yrs of the Labour.

Anyone who believes MP’s follow the ‘being truthful at all times’ has to be deluded.
Most of the people who are in Parliament were elected on a tissue of lies…..most of those who become MP’s got there because they and their party have made promises that they have no idea how to(or intention) of keeping.
Now I live in the real world, and maybe I am a cynical baggage, but I would be shocked if I felt MP’s were telling me truthfully what was going on in Parliament.

And if by chance The PM and the Chancellor resigned…..who can you see who has the small round things to take over?
The Horizon is bereft of political talent…yes there are those who have ambition, but no credentials to take over….especially with the current world situation.
I am not hopeful of that changing any time soon.
The whole ‘party gate’ situation has been blown out of all proportion.
Over hyped by the main stream media….they love to whip up outrage.

It has become emotional, (folk keep talking about their relatives funerals, people dying alone…..would the resignation of these politicians change that…or ameliorate the effects…because I was one of those who attended a very minimal funeral for my mother…..but that cannot be changed)but you cannot let emotions over-ride common sense.

I am just saying it how I see it.
I do not ask or expect you to share my views.

I think the ministerial code and MP’s is like the Highway Code is to BMW drivers…….OK for the plebs but not for the elites like them.

Who would you let run the country?
Well, I've been able to vote for over 50 years and looking back at the sad and often diabolical Governments I have both intentionally & unintentionally helped into power with my little X, I think the answer is obvious, I and the rest of the voters, would let anybody run the country except for someone that is competent to do the job.
:thankya:

We haven't even got a ruling party fit to run our local council, with an EX MP stirring things up
