i subscribed to ntl , as i had heard negative reports regarding sky. i know that ntl have had bad press but just commenting on a personal level i have had no problems whatsoever. i have tv, broadband and two phonelines and have had perfect service for the last 4 years. so i suppose i can recommend ntl.

I have heard too much bad press about ntl to ever subscribe to them.

I received a copy of a real-life complaint letter sent to ntl which I have posted in the jokes thread (I would have posted it in here, but it is quite long and may offend some people, especially those who work for ntl!!!)

I too have nothing really bad to say about NTL. Used them for 4 years without any problems whatsoever.

i heard that at christmas you could buy a sky box for a certain price and its yours to keep with all the channels

well be careful if you do what I do and only plug the telephone line in when I want to pay for a movie, they have to be able to read your digibox for billing purposes and there telling me my bill goes back to march 03 !!! needless to say I've stopped the direct debit, so if you just plug it in to watch a film and then when its booked pull it out you may never get a bill I only got caught out because I rang them about something and they made me plug the telephone line in duhhhh !!!!

You can only get the free to air channels without a subscription to Sky. This is 1,2,3,4,5 + some others mainly shopping channels.

I can only say that in August 2003 Sky wanted a massive 65 quid off me because i was using a foreign Mastercard ( German one).When i did not pay or get in touch they cut me off.Ordered a new Sky Card with the same card and they never said anything.Talking about rejuvenating revenue or what.
