Not only that Margaret I think they are trying to affect the Sunday car booters from what I saw on Sunday (yesterday) looked like a tariffic warden taking photos of their cars and vans parked on the footpath. Watch this space.

Went down Accy on Thursday I asked one of the car booters who the Guy with the camera was, shock horror it was a terrific Warden the council must have brought them in specially for the car booters. I wonder if they went on Blackburn Rd.

These guys have been prowling the parking bays on Peel St. for quite some time…and yes it is their job.
About eight weeks ago we parked on Peel St.
David wanted some pressed beef from Greg’s stall. We were about six minutes away from the car
When we got back to it we had a fixed penalty notice on the screen.
We had inadvertently encroached a disabled bay.
I paid the fine but straight away submitted a form for husband to be awarded a blue badge.
Since his heart problems and his surgery he can walk for only very short distances.
A couple of weeks ago he received this blue badge…..so now he can park there without any fear of getting a fine.

It saddens me to see the town centre now. I have great memories of being a kid and playing hide and seek on the huge car park behind Woolies and M&S. There was a ramp down the side of the rear entrance of Woolies, I guess it led to the basement areas but I remember foolishly going down it on roller skates!!

Shopping in Wardleworths where they were more than happy to order any books you needed, if they didn't have them in stock. I ordered all of my nursing and midwifery textbooks from there. Buying make up and shaders and toners hair dyes from Woolies, and being sent home from school because red tinted hair wasn't allowed.

There are a lot of reasons why Accy is now shot to sh1t... Big supermarkets, bus station in the wrong place, no free central car park etc...I fear that our Council are completely deluded about making the market hall into a food court. People won't go to town just to use a food court, which, let's face it will more than likely be overpriced. There has to be more in the town centre to encourage people to visit and I totally agree that they should be following the models of towns that are still thriving and successful.
