Peter Sutcliffe: blame the Police?
 

Tonight was the final episode of ITV drama "The Long Shadow" about the Yorkshire Ripper.
The case was a disgrace as the Police ignored evidence of survivors who said he had a Yorkshire Accent, black hair with beard and moustache, when the head Detective decided a hoax tape was real and the Ripper had a Geordie accent. Anyone with a Yorkshire accent was excluded. A black woman earlier survivor of an attack who gave an accurate description of his appearance was accused of being a prostitute when she wasn't and the police excluded her attack as being Sutcliffe.

They had a list of 250 lorry drivers of which one was Sutcliffe who worked at a firm where a £5 note was traced, yet they didn't investigate, several witnesses said he had beard, moustache and black hair - how many of the 250 were like this? Instead persisted with the Geordie line of inquiry.

When Sutcliffe was finally arrested it was by 2 police officers in a routine stop in Sheffield.

At least 2 of his last victim's died because of Police incompetence!
